Does any one else think we win the game or at least force overtime if we convert that 4th and goal situation late in the 4th quarter? I mean not converting there was basically a 14 point swing since the Pats end up burning us for a 99 yard TD pass the very next play.

If we score, we're only down 7...instead we end up going down by 21 in a matter of seconds! Sure, there's a lot that could've happened in the last 6 minutes or so (anywhere from Brady marching down the field to score another TD or the defense creating another turnover), but that was HUGE!!!

Also, if we still have Lousaka, do we convert there??? He was the best for us in those situations. I gotta believe he gets it done for us especially if he goes to the left side. The decision to let him go was arguably one of the if not the most inexplicable moves made by the staff this season! I'm still shaking my head at the decision.

Again, I know the defense would've had to come up with another stop, but there's a BIG difference between sending most of your defense in hope of a safety or a turnover down by 14...and playing for a stop or turnover down by only 7 points. Of course I'm aware of the possibility of Brady marching down the field for another touchdown, but we DID force the Patriots to punt on their possession before we fail to convert the 4th and goal to go.

Thoughts?

We gave up 11 points at the goaline. I think the game would have been different for sure because defensive allignments would have been different. for ex: we brought 8 at the goaline at the one for welkers 99 yd td. NE would not have been at the one and we would not have blitzed like that and gotten burned.

Now Brady would likely have taken them down the field again for a score but the clock would have been different as well.

Henne and co. know this and will correct these things and it will be a little easier to overcome with different opponents.

No, I don't think we were going to stop Brady at all, he was moving the ball at will. Whether that was Brady being Brady or our defense being bad, we will see in the upcoming weeks but it seems like he was just on a different level Monday Night.

If we did have a big back who could pound the ball in I think we score there for sure but I'm not certain that it was even necessary. I think Reggie could of been successful on a leap or even a QB sneak by Henne. Easily the worse offensive play call of the game but Daboll did a good job overall so I'm hoping he learns from the mistake. We do need a power runner though, hopefully Thomas is healthy this week.
