A Couple of Thoughts

Understand, I am not a know it all. However, I have to vent a little. I know several people here will say I am out of my mind for posting these items, but before you do; discard your opinions and try to look at this from a neutral perspective.

1. Is Saban that good? Jim Bates took a team with what most people here have said had less talent, inferior coaches and more disarray. He basically made them a .500 team. We are nowhere near a .500 team now...

2. Would Feeley have been this bad?? I know he is a terrible QB in many eyes, however, It appears to me that he is better than Sage.

I personally feel he is better than Gus. Especially if you look at Feeley after Bates took over.

I really questioned the need to get Saban last year after what Bates did with this team, but I was okay with it because I thought we were getting a good coach either way. Now I wonder.

I was not expecting playoffs, or and undefeated season. I was expecting competancy and maybe a .500 record. The team was good enough for that last year.

you made some sound points but i seriously don't think jim bates is head coach material. he was good as an interim coach but that doesn't make you magically wonderful as head coach.

What the team did with Bates was akin to dropping the counterweights off a hot air balloon so it can fly higher. In other words, firing DW gave the team the emotional boost it needed to play better, but in the end it was still an aberration.

i agree with point two ONLY...but i also understand that he had to be cut so we could relieve space he was being payed way too much to suck so bad, but i agree he would have been a step above Sage, look i would be highly upset if we dont clean the QB house and start next season with three new guys that never been in a dolphin jersey before...

i understand youre points. but Gus Frerrot, AJ Feely, Sage Rosenfels? Look at the options we have. I dont like having any of these guys under center. QB has to be #1 proiority this off season. The Fins could make all the moves to become a playoff team and stay with Gus and the team would still fail. As long as Gus is at QB, this team can only win 6 or 7 games at most.


I want to see a quarterback with heart come in and play. Someone who wants the ball in the 4th quarter. A Tom(I hate you) Brady type passer.

JUST GET A QB NICK PLEASE!!!

I realize there was a salary cap issue for next year, but I am not sure you put yourself one injury away from disaster like this. You need a back up and Sage does not appear to be nearly as good as Feeley.

I'd be interested to hear exactly when the Feeley trade went down, because to me it signalled that the coaching staff had given up on the season. You don't make a playoff run with Sage Rosenfels as your backup QB. That may have coincided with the beginning of the "lack of confidence" we've heard so much about. How can you have any confidence as a team when your coaching staff and front office have already started playing for NEXT season?
