Looking at our combined record in the last decade (2000-2010) and we are 86-90, a sub .500 winning percentage. Is this the worst regular season record we have in our history? Our recent opponents, the NE Patriots are 126-50. It is plain to see where the blame lies. This organization has been the model of instability in the last decade, with multiple owners and too many coaching and GM changes. The talent evaluation has been horrendous, and we can't survive on our glorious history anymore. We have become a very mediocre organization and I don't see light at the end of this tunnel. I look at the personelle decisions we made this year and it is replete with failures.
1.Keeping Benny Sapp as a nickle CB (released today)
2.Nolan Carroll has no business on an NFL field as a defensive back
3.Reggie Bush is decidely NOT an everydown, between the tackles runner.
4.Letting both Ronnie and Ricky walk, leaving no backup in case of injury to a rookie like Thomas.
5.Not addressing the lackluster safety play we have endured for many years.
6.Not adding any depth to a thin receiving corps, including a TE to work with Fasano.

Quite simply we are a crappy organization going nowhere this year. 3rd place finish in the division if we are lucky, 4th place possible.

We need a quality coach and GM to stabilize this organization and it is clear that Sparano and Ireland are NOT that tandem.:tongue::(
 
tell us something we don't fully know already

ps- you can make a lot more than 6 points. Like stupidly not adding another pass rusher and not adding a good O-lineman in FA.. just to name a few to get started
 
Not drafting a QB in in first rond since 1983. Constantly drafting linemen and CB in first round and never being the strenght of the team. Them beleiving they can make players when other coaches cannot - Reggie Bush is a third down back, every expert say so including his former coach. Ok I am thru ranting
 
We're head and shoulders above where we really should be right now. Don't forget a few years ago we were 1-15. We gutted our whole team and started from scratch, and now we have promising young team with depth at almost every position while a few years ago we were starting Cameron Worell and Derek Hagan...We are slowly getting back to being competitive, but it will take time to pull us out of the hole we fell into with bad draft choices and terrible FA moves.
 
Accepting mediocrity kills me. I remember when Dolphans b*****d if we went 10 - 6.

Is it really better? That 1-15 team lost a WHOLE LOTTA games by 10 points or less. On the wrong end of luck almost every week. This team is no better than it was in 2008 and that's the problem. That playoff push was a mirage. The offensive line isn't set after 4 years. The D was more shredded on MNF than it ever was under Pasqualoni. The special teams still BLOWS. Get real, this team is not as good as you think.
 
The Defensive performance worries me. That wasn't one facet getting tore up, the whole unit looked confused and out of place.

I have rested and thought about this one, Miami back in 08 did the exact same thing to a good New England defense by implementing a little thing called the Wildcat, the Pats Defense was so confused and bewildered they looked like a high school defense on the field, this is the NFL and Nolan and Co. are paid professionals, I will wait and see how they adjust and adapt before I continue the sky is falling chant.

and to Daboll - study that game film of Brady and the offense, what is good for the goose is good for the gander in round two.

We are a lot better than the 2008 team, but that's just my opinion.

If you're saying you want Pasqualani, Ayodele, Crowder, Jason Allen, Andre Goodman and Renaldo Hill back, well have fun with that.

We got beat by the best quarterback and coach in this league with all offseason to plan for this game.

If we get beat by an average team like we just did, then I'll start worrying...
 
Absolutely agree that you can list more than 6 points to criticize, posts are always meant to generate discussion, so thanks for adding. When your coach is an O-line specialist and has 3 first round picks on it and the play still sucks, you gotta wonder. I was sucked in by the mirage of year 1 and the amazing turnaround but reality has set in with consecutive 7-9 seasons and another one of those to follow this year, if we are lucky. I just want to be relavant again.

This has surely been one of the worst decades for the Dolphins. The lowest being the 1-15 2007 team. It could be worse. We could have been Jets fans the last decade. The Jets only won 5 more games over that same period of time and probably consider it one of the best decades for their team. :D

What was Miami doing in the offseason?
 
It all starts at the top and this team has had bad ownership and front office people for a long time. You look at teams like the Steelers, Patriots, Ravens, and Packers and they have a stable organization with good front offices and coaches. The Dolphins don't have that. They don't draft well or bring in enough high quality free agents. They like to bring in bargain type players that can't play at a high level. This team lacks talent overall. They have some here and there, but not enough of it. This team continues to make bad decisions and it has cost them. They don't even cut the right players. They need a new front office and coaching staff that knows how to build a team the right way. Look at the Lions, they are doing it the right way. They have the right front office and coach in place now and the results speak for themselves.

We were planning for sure, though Belichick's planning seemed to be better, don't you think?

Could be that the problem was implementing the gameplan. Sparano has already come out and said that nothing surprised him out there, we just didn't execute and I suspect Sapp was let go because he didn't recognize a lot of looks they prepared him for. Rather than him just being the scapegoat.
