Only had a couple touches in his dolphin debut yesterday against the bills but honestly I like what I saw out of his running style. You can tell that he has experience and that he comes from an elite offense. Guy moved the sticks with his power running style when before that miller couldn't get past the line of scrimmage. And Gray did this DESPITE our poor Oline. 9 carries for 49 yards (5.4 yds a carry) behind this Oline?

I can see him help shake this offense up a bit IF we use him more

If you can't make a difference in new england, you probably aren't that talented.

I agree but Miller also had some good runs lmao. It was garbage time and the Bills were defending the Pass.

I agree, I like him, but something must be wrong with him bwt mon-sat for NE to cut him.....he's probably not a smart guy and gets himself in situations that will hurt the team but on Sundays, this kid can play, nice compliment to Miller......

difference maker? no. decent running back? possibly

I really like Gray, but he benefitted from coming into the game at a time when the Bills were saying, "The Dolphins need to pass...no way they will be dumb enough to run out the clock after an entire game of ignoring the run".

Hard to tell with Gray considering it was clean up time and the Bills were in pass prevent and wanted us to run the clock down.
What is clear is that this OLine can't block well enough for a back like Lamar Miller who needs holes due to inability to run through tackles. I'm not saying Miller isnt a good back (I'm a big Miller fan), and this style of pass offense is designed for a guy like Miller, but the OLine simply cannot open the kinds of holes a guy like Miller needs. We need a bruiser. For that reason I wouldn't mind trying Ray Rice or continuing with Gray for a while.
OLine can't pass block. Can't run block. Can't get out of its own way. God forbid they signed a guy like Mathis to a line with no depth and complete crap at guard.

he was used in garbage time too though, so you gotta weigh that in, he was also used more with Tanny from under the center (i have to watch game to be more sure about that though).

but i agree... more power, more Knowshon like. it was good to see. hopefully he works his way in and is used more down the road. could be a great change of pase, power back we have here. OLine is needed though first.

Why not add some other formations to our playbook? Like the I formation (my favorite, the power I is next). Line our running back behind a ...FULLBACK.....We line up in the same spread option formation 97% of the time......it is so stupid, basic stupid...

In the spread option the running back does not get blocking or a power start.

Some of you are saying "Well the patriots cut him so he can't be too good"....this is the same guy that ran for over 200 yards and 4 touchdowns in a game versus the colts and was BENCHED the very next game because he was a few minutes late to practice. Mind you this was LAST season, not ages ago so the guy has it, the patriots just don't cut ANY slack on or off the field. In his situation it was for an OFF the field ordeal, On the field he is as good as gold if you ask me.

if he's the answer, then how come he couldn't get on the field 2yds from the endzone

Jonas Gray got most of his yards in garbage time, so I can't really count it. Damien Williams has been atrocious this season, so I would expect Gray to get more touches as the season goes along.

The answer to that is the same answer to many other problems on this team, coaching.
