I think with the potential that Brees, Cousins, Manning, Garroppolo as free agents and uncertainties in Indy, SD, KC, and MN, Miami has an "opportunity" to really evaluate things at QB. They have constructed the Tannehill's deal, to where it is a huge cap savings in 2018 and are in a position at 4-12 or 5-11, to draft a qb. Nothing matters unless they fix their trenches, but that was a given. I think the approach should be simple, how far can you go with your current qb situation, assuming you fix the line? Can you go further with a veteran qb listed above? And do you protect the continuity of the team by drafting one early?

Interesting! I would entertain trade possibilities for Tannehill and if we could get a 1st round pick or even a 2nd and 3rd rounder. If I could get either one of those scenarios I would grab it and go and sign Cousins. He would only cost a few more million than Tannehill at this point.

The way trades are, you are looking at a 3rd to 5th these days. I don't think anyone would trade a 1st or 2nd for him.
I'm worried about Cousins the most, because of the contract length. I'd rather sign a qb or keep Tannehill and have that short leash, as I am hoping they draft a qb. I am not sure if Cousins will get what he thinks he deserves this offseason

No, I would not go with a veteran QB at this point given the state of the team. We are not close and this team will be going through a rebuilding effort during the off season IMO, bringing in a veteran QB would not only cost us quite a bit given that this team is pretty bad and any good to great QB would require big money to want to come here, but it would be a waste of cap dollars at this point, cap dollars that we need to fill the colander of holes that we currently have. If we are going to rebuild, we need a QB that we can build around for the next decade or so, Garroppolo would be some one I would take a look at based on his youth.
Note: I am not convinced Tannehill is the man for the job as of yet, he still has much to prove.

I'd entertain a Tannehill trade if we can land Cousins, or one of those older vets along with spending our first round pick on a QB.

Is Keenum a free agent? We don't have Minnesota's defense, but I'd take him as a watchable tank commander with a rookie first round QB.

Cousins? Hell no! I'll keep Tannehill first.

Brees and Manning are too old. Jimmy G won't hit the market and god no to Cousins. We need to fill the rest of our holes, draft a QB in the 4th with the Eagles pick, and give Ryan 1 more year to see what he can fully do in this system.

Bringing in an old veteran is probably the worst move this team could make. Neither would be enough to get the team even past wildcard contender status, and then they’re done in a couple of years and the team is in even worse shape at QB. No thanks. There are no shortcuts to true success.

Keep Tannehill and fix the line especially Pouncey. I would get a QB in the 2nd/3rd for a backup role and 2-3 years to be groomed. If Tannehill goes down again, Matt Moore is not the answer. Why pay his salary for absolutely no hope for contention. Let the rookie QB take his lumps along with the team.

The upcoming offseason is so welcome compared to the last one, which was flooded with unrealistic expectation. We'll likely exceed offseason projections in 2018, as long as Gase is retained and Tannehill is healthy.

I have no idea what the organization can tout this offseason. That's the tricky part.

I'm not thrilled with Tannehill, to say the least, but at 7.7 YPA in 2016 you have to give him benefit of a doubt. Now Tannehill needs to balance things out toward maximize impact. In 2016 he was lousy in his first 10 throws but excellent in the third quarter, in fact freakish in the third quarter. He was subpar when ahead but very effective while trailing. Actually he was best in lopsided situations, whether ahead or trailing. Ahead by 9-16 points he was 8.3 and behind by 9-16 he was 8.2. Home games were more than 1 yard superior to road games. Kind of weird because Tannehill previously had opposite tendencies. In 2014 his YPA was best in the first quarter at 7.7 then dropped every subsequent quarter. In 2015 he began the tendency of third quarter being by far his best, with first quarter the worst.

So get rid of Tanny and bring a guy even older than him? What is that going to do for us? I'm willing to trade Tannehill for the right price but we'd then draft a QB with our top pick and HE would be starting day one. If we lose with a rookie then at least he's out there learning and he'd be the future. BTW, most veterans QB's are NOT gonna want to come play for us. At this point they'd looking for a team with a real chance at the super bowl and the Dolphins are not it

Ozzy rules!!

more of the same, waiting tor Tannehill to be elite, is not scalable. RT requires an elite line and back. His pocket presence is questionable. If we aren't gong to be able to fix the line on every position, we need a qb with better intangibles
