so many people saying saban has to move his *** with free agents lets look at it this way the teams in our division:
the patriots are losing players everyday and i mean starters
the jets have done nothing and are looking for a second string qb to start
the bills office is a bunch of 100 year old men who have done nothing

we just got one of the biggest free agent aquisitions in culpepper this year we are way ahead of our divisional opponents as far as free agency goes so everyone just chill out

IN S

Thats right, but free agency isn't over yet, afc east rivals still have time to get stronger, besides the Jets are going to get their starting QB on Draft Day.

true but just because we make more money than the bum dont mean we cant, or shouldnt try to be, a millionaire

We've got our man at QB. That's huge. But we need a few more players. OL, DB, WR and DL are need areas. We can get a solid CB out of the draft who can come in and start. Hodge is an answer at LB but we have more needs than we have solutions at this time. Just on a side note I do not want T.O..

Sure we haven't signed like 8-10 players, but we got TWO very big pieces for our team. A Superstar QB in Culpepper and a starting LT in Shelton. The Bills signed 5 players, but none of them can be compared to the Culpepper and Shelton signings. Between now and the draft, Saban will add some more free agents. This one trade makes us one of the top teams during this year's Free Agency period.

Make haste slowly

Free agency is less than a week old and we have our 1st franchise QB in 10 years.

What do people expect?

The Redskins overpaid for average players.
The Browns signed one very good player for obscene money and several other ok players and still won't win half of thier games.
The Titans overpaid for a #2WR and still have a defense I can run on, and will be lucky to be .500.

The Jets lost 2 lineman and overpaid for an old DT and will lose thier best defensive lineman, Abraham as well as Ty Law.
The Bills haven't done anything worth noting and still have a bad QB.
The Pats lost their #1 or 2 WR, their money kicker and will likely lose 2 lineman as well as McGinest.

Now is the time to take a slow deep breath and get inexpensive quality players.
Miami still needs another lineman, a safety (Shulters is a FA) and a real back-up QB.
Now we wait and proceed slowly after the early run on players. Miami is doing exactly what they should. How much money do posters expect Miami to throw around to players? Look at the contracts that Givens, Bentley, Mawae have signed, Miami SHOULD NOT have spent that amount of money on those players. That was the right decision.

It really does. That we chose Daunte over Drew adds drama. The only biggie left is Terrel. Four days into free agency and we have an upgrade at left tackle and the best talent at quarterback since Danny. This coach means bidness.

As fans we have to be patient and put the job of rebuilding this team into Sabans hands, so far the man has almost single handedly brought us back to respectability in a matter of months. I know all the real dolfans remember and dread the days of 4-12 which was caused greatly by our FO rushing to overpay and overcompensate other franchises for free agents and players that never panned out for our franchise. Yeah i wanted C.Hope along with some more O-line help but Saban may have not seen Hope as a fit with what he's trying to do with our franchise so be patient and allow Saban and Mueller to work. Who would know our weaknesses better than Saban and Mueller, think about it, this is not Madden. We have to build for not only this year but every year after that so we can remain on top. Remember New England's success happened thru a stage where they were patient and rebuilt quietly but efficiently and we all know how that story ended so support any FA pickups and signings even the releases cause im convinced Saban's got it all planned out.

Exactly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This guy gets the idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Free agency is overrated, teams are built through the draft. You guys have to realize that free agents get overpaid. Randle-el, Archuleta, Givens, Brees, Witherspoon, the list goes on and on. Those guys aren't that good. The Dolphins shouldn't waste all that money for these sought after free agents because they could use the extra salary cap space for the future. Like for example, re-signing our own drafted players to extensions. Our young players like Crowder and Daniels will need new contracts eventually.

That's a perspective I needed to see. We'll be locked and loaded at every position by the start of the season. Patience is so hard when Free Agency is like an event and there are no games coming up anytime soon.

I agree, but only problem is, unlike the Pats, we are getting better very loudly, and if we continue to improve like this, do not be surprised, if we become one of the favs by many to win the East...maybe the AFC....and some may go as far as the Superbowl. Unfortunately, we are not going to sneak up on anyone, but in a way, I prefer it this way. :D

Maybe a bit of perspective is needed here....

I'm too tired to look this up myself, but just who had the 'Phins signed in the first four days of free agency last year? I certainly don't recall getting three possible starters and trading for a likely fourth within the first week, much less the first four days.
