A Fan base and National Media out of Control

Yeah, and those losing seasons you mentioned were under the stewardship of Huizenga's people, not Ross's. How about letting Ross put HIS people in place before we rate him as clueless.

ross has been majority owner for three years. He kept these people in place and renewed Sparano's contract so Sparano was his person he put in place.

BS. The verdict was still out on Parcells and Sparano when Ross took over, so he gave them a shot. He then quickly realized Sparano blew, but had to reup him after the admittedly clumsy way he handled the Harbaugh interview.

I always subscribe to the theory that I just don't have to read the threads that piss and moan all the time. That way I don't have to start threads pissing and moaning about the pissers and moaners.

so it was impossible to fire sPARANO AND HE HAD TO GIVE HIM AN EXTENSION thats quite rational

I agree with the guy that started this thread.....we have nothing to complain about.....it's only been 38 years since we won the superbowl and it's only been 27 years since we've been to a superbowl......why are we complaining?.....we won 2 superbowls last century so why are we complaining? We've only had 7 HC's in the last decade and we've only had 23 QB's since Marino left......we need to relax, I'm sure Ross and Ireland have everything under control and Carl too....oh wait, he doesn't work for us.

Ozzy rules!!

i think the only reason ross resigned sparano was because of the lock out, and i extension was meant to make it look like sparano wasn' t a lame duck coach, which it turned out he was

And how was this a smart move? He could have went after an infininate amount of other coaches but he kept this scrub. We all knew Sparano was not going to make it through this year and noone on this board is a millionaire with business savy like that

didn't say it was a smart move, i think it was the only move to make seeing as though ross botched the harbaugh pursuit. and with the lock out how could you fire a coach and hire someone when the league wouldn't have allowed it.
like jeff fisher i think harbaugh used us as leverage.
having said that the selection of this next coach is crucial to saving this franchise. so lets hope ross and ireland don't f#ck this up

how was this the only move, couldnt he have looked at another coach. Harbaugh gained nothing out of the pursuit he still did not have an outrageous contract

it was the only move because of the way ross and ireland handled the harbaugh situation, you don't chase after a new coach while you have a coach still employed

thats why you fire him and it was a dumb move which just wasted a year of dolphin fans time

i agree with you my friend, the last 11 years feel like a waste of time.
but under the circumstances last year with a pending lockout, how can you find a coach to put together a staff when the league is about to lock its doors ?
that's why like i said this next coach is crucial, or it'll seem like another big waste of time

All the other teams with vacancies found people for their staffs. looks like Harbaugh got a damn fine staff. The lockout had no effect on assembling a staff. Last year was a great year to fire Sparano if you as an owner are not happy. And hell if you want to give him another year fine but its stupd to extend him.
