Hey guys, for many years I have wanted to attend a Dolphins game in person. Problem for me is that its to expensive to fly down to Miami for a home game.

This year we have away games in both Atlanta and Tennessee which is within driving distance for me (I live in Alabama) and I am seriously considering buying tickets and going to either one or both of the games. Before I buy them I have a few questions I would like to ask you guys that have been to away games.

1. Is there away team seating or do I have to chance sitting in the middle of a sea of opposing fans?

2. Are home teams fan rude to away fans as a general rule of thumb or is getting cussed at and beer cups thrown at you a rare occasion? The reason I ask this is that I am bringing my wife and I do not want her to be turned off going to games.

3. Is there any other tips you guys could give me that would make our experience as enjoyable as possible?
Thanks!!

I live out here in Calif. and only been to 1 home game so far so all my games every year are away games.I go to see them play at San Diego and Arizona with my wife and son and have never had any problems. Just dont cause any problems and Im sure you would be fine.

You can check out a diagram of that stadium and stay on the visitor side behind the dolphin players.

Only been to away games myself up in central northern regions.
If you want to increase your odds of being in an area with more phin fans, try and get seats on their side of the field. While this is no guarantee, it increases the odds. Second, while there is no guarantee about any stadium (drunk idiots exist everywhere you go), the best advice is to cheer during the game, but don't smack-talk or create unnecessary attention to yourself. If any of you are wearing jerseys or team apparel, don't go anywhere by yourself (unless absolutely necessary). While this is probably not a problem at most places, I nearly got jumped going the bathroom during the game (less busy) by a group of thugs at one stadium and my wife got exposed to graphic language from a 40 year old child at the same game. Neither of us said a word or created any kind of attention to ourselves. Other places, I've not a bit of trouble.

I've been to games at TEN and I've never had an issue. I seriously doubt you have any issues in ATL.

While at a BUF game in the 90's. I got treated quite well. Wearing a Marino jersey and other gear, I along w/ my brother sat down at a few pregame bbq's. Last year at the KC freezer game, I was one of the few who braved the sub zero weather. Not many fans had much of anything on theirs minds, other than trying to stay warm.
But overall while attending games in KC, I've had a overall great experience. The worst I've seen to date, DEN vs. OAK games in DEN. Talk about crap talking from the time you get there to the time you get to where your going after the game.

In the 90's I went to Oakland and San Diego. In 02 I also went to a joint practice in Nashville. Had some fun talking smack with a guy in front of us in Oakland, but did get some looks from other guys. In the tunnels, I saw a fins fan walk through a sea of black going up a ramp get the s**t kicked out of him. Always go with someone else if possible. SD was not bad. I cheered louder than anyone and did not get too many looks. Nashville was very tame in comparison to either of them. I imagine it would have been rowdier if it were a real game.

i went to san diego 2/3yrs ago on a phin party bus everything was fine for us yea you get the rude fans here an there but not many especially if your with your wife i think ppl. would have a lil more respect...unless your the one talkin crap to them....those 2 teams arent in afc e. so there aint to much hate involved there either lol

I'll be at the Titan game--20 yd line 8 rows off the field on the Titans side of the field. I have been to aton of away games and the only time you will have problems is if you make problems for yourself.Meaning if they get to mouthing off just ignore them and when they realize they can't get a spark out of ya then they will move on.See ya at the Titan game!!!!!!!Go FINS!!!!

I have been to many away games (Green Bay, San Francisco, Jacksonville, Tampa Bay, Indianappolis, New England, Jets, Buffalo, etc.) as I am a season ticket holder. You will be fine wesaring your dolphins gear anywhere except for Jets or Buffalo. As someone said earlier, chear for your team but don't be obnoxious in celebration. I had one of the best times in Green Bay as when we walked to the stadium, we saw a sea of green and yellow (we thought we were going to die as we were fully decked out in dolphins gear). Everyone wanted us to stop and have a beer and braut as they were tailgating (we were trashed by the time we got in). If you want to be in the opponets (in our case fellow dolfans) areas, look at the visitor side or the upper endzone corners.

My guess is Tenn and Atl should be pretty safe games.
You do have to chance of sitting near a bunch of knucklehead fans from the other team but one thing i have noticed is Miami fans normally show pretty good at away games so there should be some phin fans around as well

I've been to games at NE and, at Indy. Zero problems. Come in with a good attitude, smile alot, and, generally be positive and upbeat, you won't have problems. As has been said, don't come into a dog's yard and take a dump there. Be cool, and cheer for your team. Everyone understands that. Don't be a jack-off though.

The fans in Indy were very nice. My friend and I sat amongst a big pile of them, and, we had good converstation pre game and, during halftime...Got on well during the game as well. NE was a bit more rowdy, but at the same time, we were invited to a couple of post game tailgates by NE fans.

I'd say go. As long as you know how to conduct yourself with class, you'll be fine.

I live outside of Chattanooga, TN and have been to many Falcons and Titans games and never seen any problems. I went to the Dolphins-Falcons game in Atlanta in 1998(Falcons Super Bowl year) and most everyone was cool, just don't talk smack to their fans and most will leave you alone. Seating want matter as their will be pockets of us(Dolphins fans) everywhere in the GA dome.

Hey don't worry about the Home Fans they just talk they will not harm you, I love the Dolphins I am in the Army while I was stationed in Maryland I worked for the Ravens so I could get into football games free, and Baltimore and Pittisburg are big game alot of Pittisburg fans come down to the game and they are fine. I did escourt Plaxico to his car that night and he was scared as hell I guss thats why he carries a gun.

I was at the Denver game in 04 and was taunted some, but nothing major. Probably cuz we were a total joke that year. Went to the Denver game this past season (as you can see in my sig) and had no problems. Like everyone else here said, go in, cheer for your team, don't be an a-hole, and you should be just fine.
