Well, I was just researching some about our new coach Philbin, and came across the fact that the packers took BJ RAJI with the 9'th pick in the draft a few years ago. Since then he has made some big plays and helped them win a superbowl.

Well, we have Philbin in Miami now and we have the 8'th overall pick. DONTARI POE to me looks like a bigger, stronger, faster version of Raji. Much more agile.

Is there any chance we take Poe at #8?? If the packers can take Raji at #9 and be pretty successful doing so, why don't we take Poe at 8?? Him and Soliai in the middle would be a devastating duo of tackles...

I'd say there is a better chance that the Colts take Poe at #1 overall than of us taking him at 8...

Right but there is no aaron rodgers available at the #8 spot that I can see... I think Poe could be worth it to pair with Soliai and solidify the position for a long time

Of course some draft experts would probably say he's too raw, needs time etc, but I think he could be a pro bowler quite soon

If we don't go offense i can't see us getting anything but a pass rusher i.e. Coples most likely.

There is always a chance but I think it's the same chance a snowball has in hell.

You ARE aware that Rodgers was a VERY late first round selection, yes? People thought we'd see Manning/Leaf 2 with Alex Smith and Aaron Rodgers. When we passed at number 2 and took Ronnie Brown, Rodgers fell and fell. I believe there was even a "FINALLY" exclaimed by many and even a confused "huh" or 2, seeing as they had Favre under contract at the time. QB's win Super Bowls.

Based on what? His workout numbers or actual game tape?

I really think you guys are saying this is way more of a reach than it would be.

Just looked at 5 or 6 different credible mock drafts.

EVERY ONE has Poe going between #9 to the Panthers and #12 to the seahawks...

I don't think drafting him at #8 would be the same as a "snowball in hell" lol -_-

How about the fact that every single "expert" in the entire nation has him going in the top 12 picks???

I guess non pro bowl prospects go in the top 12 all the time... right...

Because the "experts" say he is going in the top 12 picks he is automatically going to be a pro bowl player?

Like his D-Line coach at Memphis said, "Poe often over-thinks what he is doing rather than just doing it and needs to just rely on his abilities more."

If Poe can maximize his abilities, he very well could be a pro bowl player but that remains to be seen. We have a greater need for a pass rusher than another lane clogging run stuffer so I don't see Poe in Miami's future unless we play more 3-4 than 4-3 and Dontari can play DE the way Ngata does in Baltimore.

You mentioned BJ Raji earlier and I hope whomever drafts Poe get better return on their investment than what Green Bay did from Raji last season. According to ProFootballFocus, Raji was in on 291 run plays and accounted for only seven solo stop and five assists and ranked him 46 out of 46 defensive tackles in run stop percentage in 2011.

We won't take Poe, because we signed Solai.
I think the Fins will take the BPA if Tannehill is off the board. My guess is that they take Kuechy or Richardson at the #8 spot.
Kuechy at ILB makes sense. Down the road it will save cap space (cutting Dansby).
Richardson is an upgrade and more physical runner than Thomas or Slayton.
I do not see us taking a WR because of the philosphy of the WCO offense and the abundance of quality receivers.
I do not see us taking a DE that high because the staff has said that they are happy with the dline, plus Couples are Upshaw are not worth that kind of money.
We have addressed the oline in FA. No oline pick either.
Surprise pick: I would not be surprised if we reach for Coby Fleener at #8, I think he will be gone in the top 15.
