Here's one of the few Tony Sparano signature fist pumps that made sense, because the field goal actually WON (or iced) the game:

I have no problem with that fist pump, since the FG put the team up by 9 points with four minutes left, icing a road win. There's reason for that degree of excitement in that scenario.
Now, when a FG puts you up by 3 in the 2nd quarter against a poor team, and you're 0-3, I don't think you should be doing any fist pumping of that sort.
That kind of excitement should be reserved for something that marks a difference in what your team is showing, such as putting a poor team away by going up three touchdowns in the 2nd quarter.
