They should not have the 6 vs 3 matchup on Saturday.

It established who goes where next week too early. Had Cincy and/or Minny won they'd be off to the #1 seed regardless.

With both #3 seeds winning yesterday, matchups for next week are almost (but not quite) determined.

On wildcard Saturday, It s/b...

  1. both 4 v 5 on Saturday or
  2. a 3 v 6 and 4 v 5 matchup

I really don't see what difference it makes? Both Conferences play by the same exact playoff rules.

In the AFC Conference, the Broncos are the #1 seed, and the Patriots are the #2 seed.

The Broncos as the top seed always have to wait to see which of the lowest seed teams advances and the Broncos play the lowest seeded team next week. Had Cincinatti as the #6 seed beaten the #3 seed (Texans), Cincinatti would have played in Denver next week. But since the Texans won on Saturday they advance to play in New England next week. What difference would Saturday or Sunday make? NONE.

The Broncos and Patriots still get the same amount of rest regardless of who they play, and the #3, #4, #5, and #6 teams all have to win (usually on the road) if they want to advance.

I doubt knowing where you will play next week will affect any of the games
