I was watching Finsider earlier, and they went back to the Pats game and an interview with Mike Thomas. I did not know what happened when we signed him.

He was on the SF practice squad, and slept in on the Monday before the Pat's game. His agent, Mom, and fiancee called him a bunch of times but, he did not wake up until 10:20, when he saw all the calls.

He called his agent to find out that Miami wanted to sign him but, he only had 30 minutes left to contact them or, they were moving on to the next player. He called Ireland, who told him the had a 2:30 flight to make, which he did.

He was told he would play some special teams but, our DB coach force fed him coverage, saying ya never know, and I want you to be ready just in case of injury.

Before putting him in late, Coyle asked the DB coach if he could handle this, and was told "no problem." The rest for that game is history.

Funny how stuff happens. lol

NICE, I watched that game again last night while fighting insomnia...just like the real game. It was great again and again...never got tired of watching that game.

Is he projected to start in 2014?

That story came out the day after that game.

Sorry about posting antique news but, I did not see it until Finsider this morning. The "Mother of All Hangovers" which lasted two days, after celebrating the win, and the $500 I won on it, likely had something to do with that. lol

Yeah I don't think Philbin or a lot of players even knew his name and he's not just playing but making huge plays. Would be one hell of a story if he goes on to become a good player in the league.

The 49ers were pissed to lose him. They saw something in him.

Cool story but this is the first time i've heard his name this off season. That game was outstanding but will he challenge for a starting spot this year ?
I hope so because the kid rises to the moment.

i don't know where you were when that game happened or especially the way it ended but mike thomas's story was probably told 100 times the next few days after the win

Do you really have to attack someone for posting a cool story, just because you've heard it before?
