Well, I think Fitzpatrick is a homerun, what the coaches will be able to do with him on defense, with the way he can be moved around to different positions, like a perfect chess piece will be extremely exciting, and scary for offenses.
Gesicki is going to become Tannehill best friend very quickly, he lost Landry, but when he is in trouble, he will eventually be looking for Gesicki. Unlike Landry (...And I'm a big Landry fan), when Miami is in the redzone, Gesicki will get Miami more TDs.
Though the TE that makes me happiest, and most excited is Gesicki, don't be surprised if Smythe does not challenge Gesicki in efficiency to score while in the Redzone, while being a MUCH better blocker. When some people forget, Smythe showed very consistent hands catching the ball, but was on a Notre Dame team that did not throw much.
Baker made me very excited with the type of speed he has, and how athletic he can be, but not being able to get off blocks, and him supposedly being slow to diagnose a play. Well, I watch videos, and read some more, and he is not Zach Thomas, so what, who actually is. He is more then quick enough, his instincts are fine. As for getting off blocks, if a blocker gets to him, he will probably own him, but with his speed and athleticism, it will not be easy to get to Baker, and if the blocker cleanly clock him, Baker speed will allow him to destroy some plays very quickly. I do want to see him add a little more weight though.
I like Ballage, and think in time he will be able to be an effective 3rd down back, but doubt we will see that much of him this year with Drake and Gore. He does need to work hard this year though, he is a 220 pounds, great receiver, nice speed for his size, and when allowed to extend runs, tends to become more exposive, but at 220, he has got to do a much better job finding the hole up the gut, and succeeding. He needs to run with more power, more heart, just because defenders got a hand on you in the middle of the lines does not mean you should go down so easily at 220.
