Ok so I have no clue why Jason Trusnik is still playing special teams!! Over the first 2 weeks of the season, I've watched him commit 3 or 4 holding penalties that put our offense in a real tough spot in terms of starting field position. TAKE HIM OFF. I know its probably a small change on our team, but hey- every position matters & we gotta start somewhere.

He's worse than Bobby Carpenter was and yet we havent axed his ***. Im so sick of watching good returns get moved back because of this clown. There was a reason Ryan cut this guy. Sparano should have known better as Ryan is a far better talent evaluator than Sparano is.

Trusnick is Charlie Anderson incarnate...

Seriously, Charlie Anderson went through a stretch where he had one holding call per game...

Only difference is, Charlie Anderson had much more potential/ability with rushing the passer . . . Trusnick sucks.

How to improve our Special Teams? Down it in the endzone and have Carpenter kick it out of the endzone. Simple as that. Our ST have sucked for 4 years. Any time we get a decent return, there is a penalty. Any time there is no penalty, we start at our own 15. And Fields, for all of the distance, probably outkicks the coverage more often than not, and our opponents get a few yards. We, however, are in the Fair Catch business, and business is great these days.

I'd bring back Phillip Livas. Our PRs and KRs have been awful without him.

3. Starting Field Position

The kickoff teams aren’t doing the Dolphins any favor, either. Offensively, the Dolphins have the worst starting field position in the NFL – beginning each drive on the 17.8 yard line, on average.

Nine of the 12 kickoffs the Dolphins have received have reached the end zone, but the Dolphins have taken only three touchbacks. It’s not sexy, but many times it’s the better play to just take a knee, especially when the kickoff is received in the back-half of the end zone.

The Dolphins aren’t helping themselves with the kickoffs, either. Even with the kickoff line pushed up to the 35, Dan Carpenter only has two touchbacks out of eight kickoffs so far. And opposing returners are taking the ball out to the 26.1 yard line, on average – the fifth-highest number in the NFL.

Add it all up, and it’s not a formula for winning football

The only sure fire way to improve the Dolphins Special Teams would be to bring Devin Hester back to south beach.

I know Trusnick has pretty much sucked it up with those holds, but we shouldn't cut him yet. Special teams is his forte and he has been doing it well for a while. Lets take a wait and see approach with this. Jumping the gun leads to the revolving door at special teams which leads to the debacles we've seen oh so frequently the past 2 years.

Play the staters they are not doing that much on the field. Especially the secondary. That would teach them how to tackle.

Ridiculous statement... Livas only had 1 good play and I was not impressed with what I saw from him during the next 3 preseason games...

We have the weapon (Reggie Bush) we need on special teams, we have to use it...

I didn't want to post this but Sparano actually had the nerve to praise Trusnik the other day. Said he gives 100% all time and wished he had 10 other Trusniks.

GOD i hate that man.
