Matt Schaub had a great preseason last year and has continued it through the American Bowl. The Falcons need a good backup considering Vick is always one play from going down by the way he runs. I only know a little bit about Schaub but everytime I read something about him it is positive. I doubt we'd ever get him but what does everyone here think about him and is there a chance, not this year but in the future that we take a look at him?

He really never got a shot at it....

and i do think that Shaub could be a great QB here

I'd trade AJ and a pick for him. Of course then again I would trade AJ for a one legged blind man :rofl3:

last year he looked great in the preason too. some people were actually sayin the falcons would be better with him than vick. then he threw 1 TD and 4 INT's. started one game and played most of another and atlanta lost both games. but hell, i'd take him over anything we got now.

I liked Schaub in college and i wouldn't mind giving him a shot here. He's a young, smart QB with some great instincts perhaps he just needs a chance.

If you goin after backup QB's, Billy Volek could make a hell of a QB.

I read all those same reports on Schaub last year as well. I'd look at trading Sage and a WR for him. They are in need of WR and trading Sage doesn't hurt us as he'd be the #3 QB anyway. I think they might do a Gillmore and Sage I'd add OG Whitley to it also as they could also use some depth on the OLine.

I'd like to keep Feeley around to see what he can actually do, providing he can win the starting spot. Unless he could bring us a 2nd round pick right now. I'd trade him in a heartbeat for that and go with Gus, Sage and either Berlin or another guy as #3 or then turn around and try and do Sage, Gillmore, and Whitley for Schaub. Just an idea.

actually if I was going after backup QBs I'd look into getting Kitna from Cinn.

Tenn. isn't going to trade Volek with Air McNair having health issues and talk of him retiring after this season. I 'll bet that Volek get some decent playing time this year.

I hope you're not one of those people complaining about Brown not signing yet.

Ok i've been wanting to ask this for a while, but never found the right spot to do it. I do realize that this has nothing to do with the thread whatsoever, but would rather not start a new thread for one small little question so here it goes. What are the Piranhas and Stewies?
