I know many of us are looking to the 2009 season and who we might add during FA and one of the names high on many peoples wish list is CB Nnamdi Asomugha, well this blurb comes from PFT and it's the first I've read about it. Mind you I don't very much care for PFT, but if there is any validity to this situation this is just some food for thought.

According to PFT:

As to Hall, we’re told that the reasons given for the move include a desire to devote the money that Hall would receive over the next year ($16.5 million) to inking cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha to a long-term deal, and to sign other players.

Take it for what it's worth, but I'm sure we're not the only ones with Nnamdi on their wish list this coming off season and if this is indeed the reason for the release of Hall, it could mean Nnamdi isn't going anywhere.

if i was Asomugha, i'd want out of Oakland after the contract is up. the situation is a mess over there. i guess we're going to find out after the season. i'd be stoked if we landed Nnamdi, but it wouldn't be the end of the world if we missed out on him.

he doesn't care that oaklands a mess. He just wants his money. And he's going to get it.

If we dont sign him in the offseason I would be all over Terrell Suggs. Suggs and Porter would give us a nasty pass rush, and he is still young.

i think teams like the Redskins would pay every bit as much as Oakland, and they are much better.

Well that'd be great for him. My point is that Namdi will just want the money, and not really care who he's playing for.
