I
really feel like last year was a fluke. Our defense is too talented not to have a good team. And if Henne is at least OK i feel like we have enough premiere playmakers to make a real run this year.

Last year we start with a tough road win against AP and then another win against the Superbowl Champs. We lose two heartbreakers at home the following weeks to divisional rivals who happen to be great teams. The next week we get robbed. Last year could have been a totally different year without that.

New speed, new offense, i feel good about this year! I call a week 1 Victory!

I agree, man. People around here are complete downers. This team was on the cusp last year and if a couple of those games go the other, and they easily could have, things look way different at the end of the year. How many freaking INTs did the defense flat out drop last year? Those turnovers could have made the difference in sealing some games or getting back in it. Its not all on Henne. But this team is poised to take a big step forward. Hope they come out and make a statement on national tv.

We can "shock the world". NOBODY nationally seems to give us any chance. We will be BIG surprise. This team is better than last year, and we had about a thousand things go against us.

Look the fluke at least much of it was with Sporano on how we started and some of his calls. First our Special Teams coach cost us a couple of games in the beginning of the season that should have been fixed before the season started IMO. Then field goal Tony did not go for the jugular to put some teams away that came back to beat us. Sure I agree that Chad Henne was unlucky with many of the interceptions he threw. Sure I also agree we had a couple of bad calls that may have cost us a important game. The offensive line may have been unlucky to loose Grove etc but at the end when the games were easy to win of should have been easy to win Tony lost the confidence of the team. CONFIDENCE is huge and espcially in the beginning of the season and if players feel like you are playing to just hang on to the win they don't play loose and to win but start getting temid and more worried about making mistakes than playing ball.
I guess I look at last season 3 ways that cost us, playing not to loose, bad interceptions not all on Henne and a couple of bad calls that cost us some important games that caused us to loose confidence and a coach who was late on cutting loose the ST coach along with not getting this offensive line issue settled.

Henne hopefully will get some of that bad luck interception issue turned around this year and the offensive line issue needs to be resovled and yea I agree the other positons can make it happen we have depth and players.

I think that the 1st quater against the pats is going to be a war, big time attacking on both sides- business as usual for Bellichick and Sparano has changed tactics- necessity being the mother of invention- and it will be a rumble early in that game.

Agreed but I would use the term battle instead of war for that first quarter and as long as we can win the war regardless of the battle right now is all I care about.
