First of all our O-line is not playing very well at all. we all know that.

We also all know that Ronnie got into camp late and got very few carries in pre-season.

The "Cadilac" is an excellent back who will have a very good career as long as it lasts, but the facts are if Tampa keeps running him at the pace they are now......he is going to have a short career.

Ronnie is on a pace to carry the ball 272 times thia year......"Cadilac" is on a pace to carry 408 times, I'm sorry, he is just not built for that much of a load.

I read a study done on NFL runningbacks that carried the ball over an average of 24 times per game in a given season, as I recall in nearly every case the runningback was never as good in the future after that season and in many cases would shortly thereafter have a very serious injury that greatly effected the backs career.

Tampa is riding its new "Cadilac" right now and enjoying it, but I think they may be overdoing it.

I think Saban believes keeping fresher players in via rotation is a better way in the long run for the player and the team.

Perhaps if Ronnie had carried the ball 17 more times in the last two games (like Cadilac did) and broken a long run or two we wouldn't be discussing this, but I'll bet Ronnie has a much longer career than Carnell.

You're gonna make that declaration after two games? You guys are funny man..........can't just come out and admit Caddy's been the better back after two games.......nothing but excuses and "in the long run" mumbo jumbo......

Yea too bad we didn't get Cadilac so he could run behind our vaunted offensive line, he surely would have been racking up 100 and 200 yard games right away for us with the gaping holes our line would have been blowing open for him. I watched part of the Tampa Bay game and the Bucs offensive line owned the Bills defensive line. Yesterday the Dolphins offensive line owned,..... er,..ah the water bucket.

I don't understand why anyone even cares about Cadillac Williams. He doesn't play for the Miami Dolphins, Ronnie Brown does. So why even compare the two? It doesn't make one difference.

The hold out really hurt Ronnie as we all no the Caddy was in camp on time.He practice from day one.Didn't play much in the preseason though.Ronnie will be okay in a few weeks.

I'm funny huh? Yeah your right, what was I thinking?

Cadillac Williams was done for the day. The excitement was sidelined with him.

Williams was forced to leave the game just before halftime because of a sprained left arch sustained on his final carry of the second quarter.

Or just maybe I'm right and Cadilac can't handle a heavy load without breaking down, he had to shoot up his foot to finish the game, if the Bucs continue running this back at the kind of pace they have been he won't last the year, mark my words.

Ronnie got hurt in the Bronco game, with his shoulder......or didn't you know that? So does that mean Ronnie is going to break down too?

That IS the important thing isn't it?

It's just an excuse till he shows signs of life. Do you know how many players there are who are tagged with that expression.

I've always found it to be, I live here in Buc Country and in my opinion after the last two years of total failure Gruden will run this kid into the ground to save his job this year, it kinda reminds me what Wannstedt was willing to do to Ricky in 2003.

The long run is important. Two early season games in the first year of rebuilding from the Spielman Wannstedt debacle are not.

Really man your making a fool of yourself.

Are you going to tell me, think about this, that there is no physical and mental learning curve to going from one level of sports to another?

Are you going to tell me that no rookie draft picks that started slow ever turned into great players?

Are you going to tell me that a majority of rookies do NOT come into the league and light it up right off the bat?

If you can't TRUTHFULLY disagree with these, and you can't then you are in fact making a fool of yourself with these posts.

Size has nothing to do with whether a RB will break down. The classic example of an RB who supposedly wore down is Earl Campbell (232 lbs). Another that comes to mind is Natrone Means (245 lbs.). At the same time, there are a number of "small" RBs who have had a ton of carries and played without incident for an extremely long time: Barry Sanders (203 lbs, 3000+ career carries), Emmitt Smith (216 lbs, 4400+ career carries), Marcus Allen (210 lbs, 3000 carries), Walter Payton (200 lbs, 3800 carries), Tony Dorsett (192 lbs, 3000 carries). Of guys playing today, Curtis Martin (210 lbs, 3300 carries), Tiki Barber, Clinton Portis, and Ahman Green are all "smaller" guys who have carried a major load. At 217 lbs, Cadillac is not especially small anyhow.

When Ronnie succeeds I can't wait for all the "he should be cut", "he's a bust" thread starters to come out of the woodwork supporting the guy...I want someone to take down the names of all the culprits.

HAVE SOME DAMN PATIENCE!

All of you (and you know who you are) would have wanted to waive Troy Aikman or give up on Peyton Manning.

The guy (Ronnie) missed most of camp, is playing in a totally new offense, behind an O-line that is having a tough time opening holes (they ALSO need time to gel).

Yes, Caddy is off to a good start...you know what?

I don't give a rats *** what Caddy does until we play them. I am fully convinced some of you want Ronnie to fail, and Houck to fail and Linehan to fail and Saban to fail....just like you wanted Feeley to fail and Jimmy to fail...just to say I told you so. Pretty freaking weak if you ask me.

Mod Edit: don't circumvent the profanity filter. First warning. WB3
