yeah the penalties were dissapointing...im sure saban is gonna let them know that and hopefully next week we cut down on those penalties next week

although i liked the roth penalty....alot

12 penalties is far from Stellar! However...I could care less because we trampled the Broncos!

I don't know what Plummer was b----in about personally as a donkey...err jack--- defender leveled Frerotte when he went in motion.....and Plummer starts to go in motion to the left sideline (whether it was to potentially help block the returned INT up that side or not who knows....)......as Roth then pushed him to the ground (not nearly as hard as Frerotte got leveled) and then sissyboy gets up and starts crying about it about to start a fight between multiple players...

roths penalty was deserved and completey his fault...dont stick up for it

some penalties are justified, CBs saving a TD, LBs covering 3 times, a DE playing
a move to demoralize a QB thats been down all game
all were shown in this game
a defense playing with a head on their shoulders reminds of the old phins

mind you, the PROCEDURE calls were unacceptable!!!! and need to be fixed

first I applaud Roth for continuing to try to block after the INT. Secondly, the kid doesn't quit....ever (might not be pro-bowl material yet, but that's a different story)...Thirdly....Frerotte was leveled just 5 minutes earlier going into motion and no penalty was called against Denver's D.

So...Roth sees Plummer start to move to the sideline (where the INT / run is coming) and after about 2 steps Roth pushes him back into the ground. Now....if Plummer had moved any quicker he would have been considered in motion and no penalty would have occurred. I think Roth jumped the gun just a bit and got a deserved penalty but at the same time I think Plummer was trying to "casually" stroll to the side of play to potentially help out stopping the returned INT in case his own offense couldn't bring down our boy.

The part that bothers me is he/Plummer got up and started bawling like a 5 year old who just had his only piece of candy stolen...and then eaten in front of him....about to start a fight between several players........a few minutes after his own defenders leveled our QB for basically doing the same thing.

Then again....I'm glad he was that frustrated :)

EXACTLY MY POINT PLummer got flustered after that and completely
lost it
when viewed on the sidelines, he was visibly frustrated
ROTH further added to that
he saw that it was an INT and his block whether "marginal or not"
would further frustrate Plummer
then he walks away and does not engage Plummer in anything
BRILLIANT defense, using his mind

Why can't we just enjoy the win for 24 hours and then talk about the penalties? I'm sure they'll be addressed. Geez - can't be in euphoria for one day without bringing up negatives.

actually....my point wasn't negative. The penalties were spread out throughout the Offense which may in and of itself may be a problem....but we didn't have repeat offenders (besides Hadnot, still pretty new and JT which I'll excuse). My point was it was primarily 1st game jitters for most of the penalties which slowed down in frequency as the game progressed and now that they've got a real game under their belt I expect us to have 75% less penalties next week. But thanks for always looking on the bright side of life (d@mn, now I'm signing Monty Python's "The Life of Brian"...song..."Alwaysssss look onnnn the brighttttt....sideee of life....dum dummm....dum dum dum dum dum dum.....Alwaysssss...look on....)...

actually we would have been on the 35 instead of the 50 and probably got at least a FG out of that posession if we didn't get that penalty so it IS a problem...more so then getting into Plummer's head when he was already down anyways. In that regards....if it was Roth's intention to mess w/Plummer it was a stupid decision as it probably cost us points (which at the time the more seperation the better although in hindsight it was a landslide anyways and didn't matter).

My point was to Atila really which was that I'm not "sticking up for Roth" getting that penalty....but rather stating that I think Plummer got all bent out of shape about something that just happened to our own QB 5 minutes earlier and he didn't need to start a near-fight between multiple players on both teams because our D just treated him to a taste Frerotte had fresh in his mouth.
