A lot of salary cap dumps coming

They'd be foolish to dump Gibson. When you add him to the mix, especially if you get Keller back next year, this could be a very potent offense (if we fix the OL). I loved what I saw from Gibson until he got hurt. I thought that was a huge loss for our offense this yr.

Gibby, I'd keep. Moore & Patterson? Not so much.

We're not cutting Gibson and we're not cutting Ellerbe or Wheeler unfortunately. That would kill free agency for us completely and leave us relying heavily on the draft to fill all these holes. 2 LBs, 1 WR (at least), 4 OL, 1 DT...that would be the minimum for NEEDS if we cut Gibson, Ellerbe and Wheeler. That's 8 picks and we may only have 6 since we probably gave up a late round pick for McKinnie in the trade.

Gibson will not get cut. wheeler better though. I could see binns gone as well with Mathews playing as well as he did. I wouldn't mind Ellerbe being cut ether as long as we draft someone like the kid from Wisconsin. I could also see moore and Patterson gone. I would like to see Patterson restructure his deal though and Wallace restructure (but that wont happen)

Who wrote that up? Gibson only costs us just under 4 million-he's not going anywhere. Patterson-not unless we resign some others, we have free agents in Grimes, Carroll, Clemons and Standford. Matt Moore-he'll be back unless we draft another QB to backup/compete with Tannehill. Plus, we have cap space.

Not so fast on cutting Moore. In this league, you need a backup who can play, and Moore is one of those. Unless we feel Devlin can produce or we draft someone, I would definitely keep him around. You may be able to extend is contract and thin out the salary cap hit, but I would definitely keep him.

i will be pissed if they are stupid enough to cut gibson...not surprised but pissed

As others have stated, do not cut Gibson. There would literally be no point in doing so. He was productive before getting hurt.

Patterson can come back at a lower cap hit. If he doesn't want to restructure then **** 'em.

Matt Moore? Apparently the guy can replace Tannehill at any point and lead Miami to 100 points. Miami would be foolish to cut such a prodigy.

We would be stupid to cut Brandon Gibson. He was the most impressive player on the team ( I M O ) when he got chances.

what is the cap impact of cutting Wheeler?

Cutting Wheeler would count 10.6 million against the cap next year, keeping him would be 6.4 Million against the cap. Ellerbe would count 11.6 million against the cap if cut, keeping him would be 7.425 Million against the cap .

Better to keep em and let them ride the bench if they are terrible.

Plus you only save 1.7 against the cap if u cut Gibson . . . not 3.7. Gibson was staying here regardless.

Moore and Patterson are the 2 I identified as well. Moore's contract was setup to be cut this season if we couldn't trade him this year. We had the money to sign him to that deal last year, now we need his 4 million to sign other players. Patterson will be interesting. He'll definitely have to restructure his deal. If he was dependable he was playing like he was worth it, but you can't hope on his health when you have to sign the more dependable Brent Grimes for money.

People need to stop hoping for Wheeler and Ellerbe to be cut. It certainly isn't happening next year and probably not the year after either. Their contracts are setup to be more favorable after 3 seasons, not 1.
