In all due respect to fishypete's thread, I don't have time to read all the posts right now. If this is old news, just ignore this thread.

On pre-game last night, Tom Jackson said (matter of factly) that Marshall was promised a new deal from the team and they did not live up to it.

He was upset, with good reason. He pouted like a kid, DUMB. Apologised, SMART. To me, this is not an issue.

I have no problem in trading for Marshall. He fills a big need immediately, makes all the players around him (and the team) better, and most importantly is only 25.

I do apologise if all this was already posted.

Lets call this the Marshall plan!!

LOL. I see there is yet another thread on the "Marshall Plan." Guys, just ignore this thread.

Sorry FP, your thread was too long for me, a good thing. Keep them coming. :)

The Trifecta have been very selective about the type of players that they want on the team. They have specifically avoided selfish "me first" individuals, preferring to find players who buy into the team concept. They like hard working, disciplined, smart footballers who are not going to get into trouble off the field.
While there is no doubt that Marshall is very talented, he represents the antithesis of the culture that Sparano is building. Namely, he is a selfish, petulent diva who is extremely ill-disciplined and has a natural inclination to get into trouble off the field. They reported on Sirius that while he earned $2.2M last year - he has blown the money and is in financial difficulty (this is the reason that he is pushing for more money now).
Marshall is talented but a very high risk project. My strong advice is steer clear of him.

Any receiver worth his salt thinks he's the best...the problem is he has to prove it. Marshall's problem isn't that he works hard...he does...it isn't that he plays with injuries...he does....it's a problem of judgement.

This is probably your best post on this subject.

WR ARE DIVAS!! THERE SELFISH!!!

and that is what you want at the position! i want as guy who wants the
ball all the time. expecially if he is productive with it when he gets it!

and brandon marahll is one of them.

the finz have had this attitude towards big play guys for YEARS and that
is why we are in the boat we are in. its why we are not in the superbowl
and LOSE most of our big games agaisnt big talent.

wr's are what they are. WE NEED POINTS TO WIN!! and the points come
mostly from the passing game. untill parcells gets over his hatred for
wr's, we wont do diddly! we will be close but no cigar.

hell, even bill billichek knows the importance of having big time talent at wr.

moss [hes not a problem/diva?], welker and now even joey galloway!!

the bills went and got terrell.

what are we doing? adding more db's [and thats ok] and going with the run
at all cost and play defense mentality. these players like t.o and moss and
welker and brandon marshall are not great because they only get over on
week defenses, these guys are great because they can beat THE BEST DB'S
and defenses in the league!

once again, there is a pro bowl, light it up player to be had and miami probably
isnt even a player. probably havnt even called them.

and what will the outcome of that be? once again, a 17 point average for the
dolphins and no play offs.

GET BRANDON MARSHALL!!!!!!!!

That's a fair opinion, although I have no interest on how someone spends their money. It's none of my business.

Specifically, what has he done which makes him such a bad guy? Aside from being lied to by the team on a new contract?
