Can you guys imagine the 49ers if that had been the case?

Every game back then would've been like watching the first few Olympic Basketball Dream Teams blowing out the other world teams and comming home with the gold.

good article however way too much credit to bayless as a good writer...it seems every time i have listened to him i get sick to my stomach at his out there ideas. sometimes i listen to him and feel like he makes a point simply to get an argument out of people. other than that great read.
 
Look at it with common sense...if you put Joe on our Miami teams, how many games do you think they win?? Maybe a 3rd of what Marino won? I'm a homer, but I can also see when a player is simpy better than another. How many coaches truly would pick Montana over Marino. Give me a friggin break. Of course, maybe Wanny would. Lets ask him. If he says Montana then we know for sure Marino is the best. Hel, I know it now.
 
I think the article is just stating the obvious. You could put any top 10 QB in the league on that team and win SB's ya know?

Records all the same, his numbers would just be higher, but he would still be the leader.

But for a SB, Dan had receivers...we needed a running game!
 
Everyone always compares these things in the wrong way. Instead of asking could Marino win superbowls with the 49ers, ask yourself, would Montana have won 4 superbowls in Miami?

Just replace Marino for Montana and explain to me how Montana would have led this very same Miami team to 4 superbowl wins?

I just dont see it happening. Marino did better than anyone else couldve done under those circumstances. Soft defense, average-poor running attack. I dont care who your QB is, you dont win championships with those things.
