I would like to hear one. In an age where Tony Romo makes the freaking pro-bowl... Is it not obvious, there is only a small handful of good QBs in this league? We do not have the luxury of having Peyton Maning. But we had a player, when healthy, who was one of those elite QBs. I think Daunte has earned a chance to come in here HEALTHY and compete as the team's #1 QB. We have issues all along our roster, and are facing a shallow pool of free agent talent this off-season. What do you propose Dante bashers? Draft a bad value qb at the 9th overal pick when we can solidify a position in need, be it DB, LB, OL... or a WR who actually shows up week in and week out? You think Brohm is gonna come in here and take us 11-5 ? We got a guy who was once a very great talent in Culpepper. He had an injury that usually takes 2 years to recover from. He was rushed back in 10 months by "The Satan". Next season, 2 years will have passed and he should be fully recovered. Noone wants to see if he can compete when 100%? Was it not obvious his main issue was mobility and line-protection early this season? What if he has that next year? What if the line comes in healthier with better cohesion, and he has his mobility back? Otherwise, let's hear some bright ideas.

All of you Daunte lovers beware....

Remember that he was brought in by the fomer coach, and it cost him his job. The next guy will almost definitely tread a lot more carefully with #8...

Hopefully he'll bring a new QB, because none of the guys under contract are going to lead us to the promised land. Rosenfells and Marino's former lackey both have much more going for them...

I agree 100% of what you just said. Give a healthy Culpepper a chance and see what he can do. Go defence with the 9th pick in the draft. Get a stud DT or OLB or the a shut down CB that we need. Not a QB, not this year anyway.

Who out of the 5 decent Qbs in this league is going to take us to the promise land? There are not many options out there.

Let's rest all our hopes 'of the promised land' on a QB who hasn't played a full season in 3 years and has had major re-contructive knee surgery.:sidelol:

Since we know he is going to be at least as good as pro-bowl material after looking into the magic 8 ball lets get rid our our backup qb's and trade them for more help elsewhere.

If we don't draft a QB, then 07 is going to be a long year.

We absolutely need to draft a QB, no doubt. But drafting a QB isn't going to make any difference for 2007, more likely than not. But we need a guy for the future, **just in case** Duante can't return to his old form.

A. He's played a significant amount this year and last. And at least he's finally letting it heal properly.

B. What do you propose?...nothing. exactly.

You make good points but its a frustrating situation. We're going to draft a decent QB just to get him up to Cleo Lemons level? The talent pool is thin.

Daunte will be 30 this year, with a suspect knee. Don't forget he's a big guy and he will run, his knee will take more of a pounding than your average QB. It's time to look at a QB for the future regardless of whether DC can play this year and/or next.

in the last 2 seasons, he's played 11 games. how is that a significant amount of playing?? thats less than 50%

We trade for Matt Schaub and draft a QB in a later round. IMO this years top college QB's are grossly overrated. None of them look at all like the next peyton or tom or even a hasselback or green.

he's played 30-40% of each season. that is significant in comparison to the statement..."he has not played in three years."

Matt Schaub is highly overrated...I live in Atlanta and the only reason people get excited about him is because he can throw better than Vick, which isn't really saying much. No more trading draft picks for other's people's clipboard holders. Let's draft a QB early and bring back either Cleo Lemon or another veteran QB to compete with Culpepper for this upcoming season while we groom our QB of the future. So if Culpepper plays lights out, then we have the same problem the Chargers had...it worked out pretty well.

Nice solution. I personally feel we need to addres other positions with our ninth overall pick. But you put something good out there. Thanks.
