Okay, we have all seen the reports that Quinn maybe slipping. I don't really buy it yet, but I thought the same thing about Rodgers two years ago. So, if Quinn happens to be at the # 9 spot when we are up, I see to things we can do.

1. Jump all over him

2. See if someone else wants him bad enough to trade up, then we can add picks that we really need.

I'm not really sure what I would do, unlike CK, I'm really not sold on Culpepper or really any QB on the roster. Now I hope Culpepper comes back strong, but I have my doubts, so that makes me say draft Quinn if he is sitting at # 9

But on the other hand, if we could pick up some much needed extra picks, then that would go a long way to helping us get younger and quicker, and maybe take another QB further down in the draft.

What would you do if you were GM for a day?

I can envision us letting Harrington go and keeping Daunte and Cleo. If that is the case, I would love to see us try to get Brady but only if we can get him at the 9th pick, or even better, after a trade down, then later in the first round.

That would be a great problem to have. I still think Daunte can be a Pro Bowler. I would be estatic if we could trade down. I imagine we could get some good value in trade at that point... and it wouldn't bother me one pick was in '08.

Philosophically, I like trading down for additional picks. But lest we forget, JJ traded down out of a shot at Moss to get John Avery and three guys who didn't make it out of training camp! There is a reason some people are still available at number 90 and why some folks are picked at number nine!

so true, Rev.

I would love to have Quinn at #9. There is no certainty with Quinn yet there is no certainty with Culpepper, either. But,I think Mueller will want to make a statement early and from all indications, he wants speed. That might mean WR or pass rushing DE/LB.

I would try to trade down. If not, (and presented with Quinn) I would choose WR (Ginn or Jarrett).

It's would be an interesting thing if it happened.

Say a team like the Panthers or Cowboys really wanted him. We could really come away with a great draft.

If in Panthers spot at 14, we could take Levi Brown, then with our pick in round two we could take maybe Miller the TE from ASU, Lenoard from Rutgers or someone like Wright from UNLV, and then with the Panthers 2nd pick take any number of players, including if available, Kalil, Carikker heck even maybe Stanton.

It sure would make me drool on draft day.

Some more to throw at you. I heard this today from a Raider fan. Moss and there number 1 to the Falcons for Vick, so Schaub can take over and have Moss to throw to. This will be a very interesting draft. I think it is about time we draft a quarterback, and groom one for a change rather then looking for a vet to be our savior.

I heard that trade news too. I actually think it will be a good one for both teams but I also heard that Atlanta has said that Vick isn't going anywhere.

Agree 100% that we need to draft a QB. The problem is that if we draft a QB in the first round, he is going to expect to start in a year or so and if we draft lower, he may never get a shot if Daunte regains his previous skill level and Lemon continues to impress.

My thought is that if we pick a QB in the first two rounds, that effectively spells the end of Daunte or Lemon.

Not if you take the Rivers track, let him sit for a year or two, learn, then throw him in.

My problem is I'm really not sold on Culpepper coming back to look like anything he was before. I think we need to draft a QB either way.

NJ if Mueller stays and they re-do his deal, he has a great eye for quarterbacks in the mid to later rounds.

Yep, he has a history of it and doing it often, then trading off the stock pile for extra picks.

But if Quinn is at 9, its a win, win in my eyes, pick him, or get extra picks.

I am not sold on Daunte either. If I had to hazard a guess, I believe that Lemon will start because Daunte will not be ready again and we will draft a QB to fill the #3 spot. Then, in 2008 or before, we will release Daunte and sign an older FA to fill the third QB spot and more the rookie up.

I'm not sold on a healthy Culpepper, even a pre injury Culpepper, he has never come up big in a big game, and a bunch of his stats where against teams they should have beaten. Now I always drafted him in Fantasy football, but if I was running a real team, he would not have been my pick.

Pep only had two bad years and that was his injury year and his year here. Until then, he ranked at or near the top of all-time QB stats for the number of games played.

But look at him when he needed to win in big games, don't get me wrong, he is a great QB, but I have no trust in him in a big spot.

That being said, I went out when we got him and got my Culpepper Jersey as seen in the NJ tailgate photos, and I hope he proves me wrong, because its a win win for the fins, and I will root like hell for him to do well, but I really have my doubts.
