A formula for a playoff team is the following:

  1. An aggressive offense scheme that is capable of putting up 22-24 pts per game.
  2. A top 10 pass defense that holds opposing QBs under a QA rating of 80.
  3. A defense that generates average number of turnovers
  4. Henne performing well enough to average a QB rating of 85
  5. Having an above average year for staying healthy (minimize injuries)

This team is more than capable of meeting these goals. I know that many of you do not believe that Henne can achieve the goal I set for him, but I believe you are wrong. This requires a team wide performance, and it requires Daboll to continue to attack with his play calling.

I agree with all of those things. I think, maybe it's the fresh face, but Daboll is going to be the key to the Dolphins this season. I wouldn't say he is going to be what Nolan was when he arrived because Nolan had credentials. But Daboll could have the same kind of impact on the team as a whole as Nolan did when he arrived if he is able to get the team to do what he wants on offense.

We have the players on both sides of the ball to hang with anyone in the league. I've never seen a team on the wrong side of the ball bouncing then the Dolphins last season. A few of those breaks goes our way and we had a different season.

I am very excited for this season to start. I think we have a major chance to shock the world on prime time if we can pull that win against the Patriots.

Simplicity, I like it. People get really really caught up in the nitty gritty constantly on this site, and it's refreshing to see a good general outline of what our team should try to accomplish.

I hope we shock the Patriots (who always seem to roll all over teams in preseason, and always look nasty going into every season) on Monday Night, and that it sets the tone for the season. There's a lot of intangibles that get factored into the season, but there's no reason they can't attain these goals.

While all of those goals are definitely attainable, it would only put us in the middle of the pack, and not a playoff team. We need to do even better than that imo.

The goals are more important than you believe. Last season ....

Score 22-24 points: 6 times
Defense Holding QB under 80: 7 times
Dolphin QB over 85: 7 times

These numbers should look familiar. Before you ask, the 7 times we met my QB related goals we won.
