I spent the weekend watching his all-22. I went through his sack reeel (damn there are some impressive ones) but also his play-by-play clips to see what made him successful and what didn’t work for him.

I took some GIFs, compared some stats and wrote about it all in here.

Through the first 10 games of 2017, Quinn was finding his footing in a new defense. Learning a new position, and overcoming the recent medical issues, Quinn registered only 2.5 sacks prior to Thanksgiving. The next four games, Quinn went off, tallying 6.5 sacks and adding one more in the Rams playoff game, for good measure.

Didn't check it out yet, but saved in a tab. Just wanted to say your work is always professionally done and superb. Can't wait to read when I get home from work.

Good stuff.

I was bullish on this trade, but it would be good if one of these turned out well for the Dolphins for once.

Seems quite fair and honest evaluation. Of course we all want to focus on the positive upside and discount the "deteriorating performance."

Great post.

I think Robert Quinn is a fantastic player. The only draw back to this trade is “IF” he doesn’t show he’s healthy and doesn’t perform in Miami? But on the surface this looks like a steal for Miami. He has been dominant at times in his career. Add to the fact he got 8.5 sacks playing out of position as an OLB in a 3-4 Defense, and to his credit, once he got accustomed to it, he was able to get 6 sacks towards the end of the season, during a playoff push. To me that speaks volumes as to his abilities and mindset. Now moving back to a 4-3 DE, a spot he’s more comfortable with and another year removed from his back issues, could mean a return to a more dominant player.

With this guy here, what of Branch? From what I understand we can't move him this year.

Immediate upgrade. Will bring something Wake has not been able to muster in some time and that which CHarris is still looking for.

I'm expecting big things from this guy..

I think it’s going to come down to what kind of guy he is. Does he want to be here and how motivated is he to get one more big contract? His end to 2017 is super encouraging. We absolutely need him to be a 7-10 sack guy.

They just gave him an absolutely moronic contract that handcuffs us from getting rid of him. By that I mean if we cut him, the cap hit is actually worse than if we just keep him. He’s a decent backup, but $10 million for a backup is....

It’s a Mike Tannenbaum move.

I doubt they cut Wake but they will cut his snaps. Suh's not going anywhere this year and Branch can't be cut yet either

Ozzy rules!!
