A scary thought: QBs and interchangeable parts?

The reports I see of Fiedler being named the starter include this quote:

But coach Dave Wannstedt stressed that the decision was effective only for Sunday's season opener against Tennessee.

Not a very firm commitment. Not: "Jay is the man. Jay is our starter."

I would suggest it's not same-old, same-old.

I'll go one step further. Come with me to hypothetical land with me. What if Wannstedt has decided Fiedler is the best starter to match up against the Titans? What if he's thinking of making a week-to-week decision on who matches up the best?

A scary thought. But it would sure make for an interesting season.
