A Tale Of Two Divisions

Other than the Browns and Lions, is there any team in the NFL with a longer conference championship game drought than us?

I think that one really helps bring home how bad we've been over the last 30 years or so

Even Jville and the Jets have been to one in the last 30 years. that really hurts

Speaking of two divisions, I wonder if they'll ever do a realignment and put Miami in the AFC South where they belong.
Well that’s debatable as they are “east”. But I know what you mean

AFC East Buffalo, Baltimore, Jets, Pats
AFC North Indy, Cleveland, Cincy, Pitt
AFC South Miami, Jax, Tenn, Hou
AFC West LAC, KC, LVR, DEN
This makes a hell of a lot more sense. The Colts were previously in the division anyway, that'll let them have some renewed rivalries, and I can still keep hating the Pats, Jets, and Bills (in that order), whether we're still officially in a division with them or not. lol

Plus, I feel like in some ways we've already developed a rivalry with Jax (for embarrassing us in Marino's final game) , Tenn (for this season and Tannehill finding success there), and Hou (for being a thorn in our side that took us the better part of 20 years to finally get our first win against).

They should be in the AFC South and Indy in the AFC East. I don’t give a flying **** about rivalries.
Preach brother!!

I was FURIOUS back when the NFL did their last realignment and Huizenga complained loud enough that the commish eventually gave in.

I think the rivalry thing was not only a cop out, but a very short sighted stance for our owner to take. Sure it would have been an adjustment, but I think Miami being in a division with J’ville would have eventually grown into a college type atmosphere.

It will NEVER happen, but when the NFL eventually adds 2 more teams, I’d like to see them do a ground up realignment, forgetting about the current AFC and NFC affiliations. Just picture this division:

AFC or NFC South:
Miami
J’Ville
Tampa Bay
Atlanta

The purists will absolutely kill me on this but I could right a novel on the benefits that the league and teams would reap by doing this.

I've emphasized the same thing many times. It's a ridiculous missed opportunity that it hasn't played out that way. I remember the Strikers rivalry with the Tampa Bay Rowdies during the late '70s and early '80s. Passionate fans making the road trip both ways. Frenzied atmosphere. Rick Weaver called the games for WIOD and would go absolutely nuts when Rodney Marsh would intentionally trip himself in the box.

Multiply that by 1000x twice a season in pro football.
