So, I just finished reading another news article that proclaims to say something-but-in-the-end-said-nothing about the Chiefs next hire for Head Coach. We all know the rumors of Haley from the Cards seeing as how thats all anyone ever talks about it seems but what about one other candidate from the Cards?
Russ Grimm?
I dont believe there is any personal connection to Pioli and Grimm but two things come to mind in the article (and all of the others for that matter).
"It’s similar to the plot line surrounding Scott Pioli and his arrival from New England to become the Chiefs new general manager. He’s bringing the Patriots Way to the heartland of America.
Steelers Way. Patriots Way. It’s really not hard to figure out what those ways are all about."
and this one: "Knowing something about Pioli’s time with the Patriots tells us that he’s already identified the man he wants to work with. For whatever reasons, the time has not been right for that move to be announced or finalized."
...I remember Grimm was kind of a hot ticket for some time so I have to wonder if he is "the one" that no one seems to be talking about but would fit the ideals that Pioli (and his father-in-law) seem to espouse.
Thoughts?
(here is the article I copied from for what it's worth... http://www.kcchiefs.com/news/2009/01/26/its_about_the_right_people_not_systems )
