0-16 means nothing as does 1 win ovwr another hated shitty team. What does mean something is having a luxury to pick any player we want without opposition.

I don't think it does.
Fans can get enjoyment and satisfaction out of their teams performing well and defeating other teams and other coaches. Maybe even coaches that were formerly on their teams.
