Aaron Banks FA LG from SF 49ers

I seroously wonder if we will start to have trouble signing free agents of quality this offseason bc.... were not close to being contenders, we have a lame duck HC and GM, our star players are all pissed off and won't be recruiting their buddies to come here... and we don't have much money to spend.
 
Going by games played the injury history can't be too bad.

He's no pro bowler or anything. Not on any Top 50 FA lists or anything. 3y, $12M IMO.

48th (there are 64 starting Gs in theory) out of 135 according to pff. Also experience is scheme specific. I don't think power/gap or heavy pass blocking teams would prioritize him. The pass blocking of only 60 doesn't instill a lot of confidence. That's why I noticed him. I would think he'd be in our budget and knows McD. I just want a legit starter, no more, lol.

He's a 10 point improvement or so over Robert Jones.

I await the 'we were in the running for several quality OLinemen' line being trawled out by Grier.
 
It should be that we draft 2 guards in the 2nd or 3rd round or beyond and job is done for 5 or 6 years.
Grier will pick up a couple of cheaper ones in f.a and draft one in the 4th or 5th and think the job is done
