I just thought I would enlighten some of you who think they know what kind of QB Aaron Brooks is. I keep reading some of you saying he's inconsistent, and not worth a serious look!!

NOTE: READ THE FRIKIN STATS BEFORE YOU COMMENT!!!

After five seasons in New Orleans (2000-04), Brooks ranks second in club history in every major passing category - including yards (16,274), attempts (2,340), completions (1,323) and touchdowns (107) - and first with an 81.5 passer rating. He has emerged as one of the NFL's top quarterbacks since 2001, with 98 touchdown tosses over that span and over 3,500 yards each season. Brooks has thrown for over 250 yards in a team-record 28 regular season games, and in 30 contests including the playoffs. In 2004, he completed 309-of-542 attempts for 3,810 yards, with 21 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. It was the fourth straight season where he had over 20 touchdown passes and over 3,500 passing yards, with both streaks signifying the best in Saints record books. Since arriving in New Orleans, he has emerged as one of the NFL's top comeback artists by engineering 16 game-winning drives in the fourth quarter or overtime, including five in 2004. Brooks took over as the team leader in 2000 in relief of injured starter Jeff Blake in Week 11 (vs. Oakland, 11/19/00), started the following week and has not missed the opening snap since. Brooks has played in 72 regular-season games with the Saints, including starting the last 69 contests. His 441 passing yards vs. Denver (12/3/00) is the highest single-game total in franchise history, and Brooks is also the only Saints quarterback to rush for over 100 yards in a contest (108 vs. San Francisco, 12/10/00). Last season vs. the Broncos (11/21/04), Brooks set club marks for attempts (60) and completions (34) in a contest.

Now after reading his stats you still think he isn't better then any QB we've had since Marino and isn't worth a look, then I don't know what the heck you people want. He would fit Linehans O perfectly IMO, still young, big arm, excellent speed, big time numbers as a starter. People should do some research before posting or voting on players we need to add to this team.

Ive always thought he was "eh" kinda like frerotte/fiedler. I'll pass. I want a good QB, im sick of mediocore.

He has the talent, but he makes the most bonehead plays you will ever see. Id probably take my mortal enemy Frerotte back before Brooks

I said that he has all the phsical talent in the world. he just doesnt have the mind and the leadership. The other night they said the Saints have been year without a comeback of like 14 points. Thats falls on Brooks. Please dont call me a Gus lover either. Anyone here can tell you that I have no Gus love. And I would really prefer Gus.

Here are some stats for you. Gus is clearly a better QB (I cant believe I just said that...) than Brooks. The guy has 13 TDs and 17 INTs for a 70.0 rating...not a champ by any means

ESPN just said Leinart could tell the Saints "I'll Pass," like Eli Manning did with San Diego, in which case the Saints are screwed....I know that Brooks numbers look pretty good but he is just like Vick....too many fumbles, bad throws at bad times, and you have to figure Brooks is mentally damaged from all those Saints losses over the years.

Apparently stats don't prove anything. Sorry to waste your time.
They don't. Looking at Brooks stats is what fools many people. You have to watch him play to appreciate how awful the guy is.

I think he makes bad decisions because of bad coaching and the Saints organization.

I think he could do much better if he was better coached because he has developed a lot of bad habits.

I'm not into salvage operations so I say no, however.

Brooks is a very good borderline Great QB

every season he started everygame he put up 3500 yards or more except this year when he put up 2800 but you cant really blame him for that with all the things happening around him

2 years he made it above 3800 yards

He is a 7 year Pro He didnt start his first year, started 5 games year two

I dont see how people can talk bad about a guy that has played very well through his career on a bad team

Stats aren't everything. This isn't a fantasy football team. Brooks is too erratic and makes too many boneheaded throws.

Ok show me a better option then Brooks, excluding rookies, because they aren't better options. Their won't be one QB avalible to the fins with better NFL stats this year.

Keeping sucky Gus is a better option than Brooks. Period. You haven't watched him play, aside from highlight clips, have you?

yes he makes so many bad decisions that he has thrown

120 TD's to 84 INT's career

Thats a pretty good TD to INT ratio

He goes on huge streaks, good and bad, within the same game even. He doesn't know how to play within himself, like many QBs.
