What if Aaron Kampman shows up in Miami sometime in July and declares himself healthy, passes a physical and has a good workout?????

Sign him???

How much?

What would be his role?

Why wouldn't the Dolphins sign him??

Personally, I'd sign him sooner rather than later for a few reasons.

1st: He could get healthy and be an enormous help in a position of obvious need!!

2nd: This defense lacks veteran leadership. I love Dansby and he does the best he can, but he isn't a natural leader. Kampman is renowned for his extraordinary leadership qualities, dynamic personality, and excellent character.

3rd: I believe a very cap friendly contract could be agreed upon. Kampman would probably have the best opportunity for playing time to reach his incentives in Miami more than any other destination.

On December 7, 2009 Kampman was officially placed on injured reserve due to a knee injury he suffered earlier in the year versus the San Francisco 49ers in week 11.
[h=3]Jacksonville Jaguars[/h]Kampman signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars on March 6, 2010. He was released on June 7, 2012 after missing nearly the entire 2011 season due to injury.
that doesn't look promising.

i think he would be a perfect fit... a solid veteran player with leadership...

Sign him.
Five sacks in preseason against starters keep him.
Anything else dump him.
League min of course.

that doesn't look promising.

No it doesn't. An ACL tear in his left knee in 2009 followed by an ACL tear in his right knee in 2010 and only played in three games last seasons because of a hamstring injury. Add to the recent surgery to clean out his knee and it really doesn't look promising that Kampman can offer much this season. He's 32 years old and you have to wonder how much is left in the tank.

I'd be fine with signing him for vet minimum, or after the season starts, if we are having pass rush trouble.

not sure where i stand here.he has some injury problems and would be a dark horse to even make the 53.who would not make it if he were to
