IDK about the staff having an aversion to rookies. I just took a look at the last three drafts. One has to be honest. There isn't much to work with there in general.I dont think the issue was with Wright, I think it is more the coaching staff. We dont seem to use rookies much, unless injuries dictate otherwise.
Achane didnt get a ton of touches in his first year even though he was explosive when he did get the opportunity.
Our line was so damn bad last year that Wright couldnt really showcase his talents when given a shot. With mostert gone now and hopefully an improved oline, I think Wright is used far more this year.
Chop and Paul didn't start day one, but they were playing behind pretty good experienced veterans.
Achane only played in 11 games as a rookie, was inactive game one, then had 20 touches in game 2. Also bear in mind that Mostert was having a monster year. Achane didn't have a huge amount of snaps, but when he got them he also got the ball a lot.
I do agree that Wright will get more snaps. They would more than double simply taking the snaps Mostert got last season.
