Pretty good watch, goes over both good and bad (starts with the bad), does a very good job of showing the finer points of Harris' game. Goes into detail of why plays are happening as they do, not just focusing on the results.

Harris has traits you can't teach; like an EXPLOSIVE first step and a high motor.

He's not very good against the run, but most of his problems there come down to technique. If this kid is coachable, then he has a chance to be a very good player. He'll get snaps in pass rush situations from day one, and should only grow from there.

One thing that is mentioned in the video (several times) is that he needs to learn better timing with his bend on the speed rush, and every time I heard that I thought of Cam Wake working with Harris, should be fun!

GO PHINS!

EDIT: make sure to have the sound on, commentary is most important part

Thanks for posting the video bro. Definitely coaching can fix some areas that need further development. Hopefully Cam mentors him as well so that helps make Cam's and Suh's jobs easier.

Will check this out tomorrow. Thank you for posting

Happy to post, insightful look into Harris, you can see the skill set with real film

I had to turn the sound off, just can't stand listening to that guy destroy the English language.

I don't like the pick but to be fair to Harris, Lombardi picked the first game of the season to criticize and it's pretty well known that Missouri changed their scheme to a more read and react defense that Harris and the entire defense struggled with. They switched back to an attacking defense and that is when Harris played his best.

The games I have watched I see a different player from the first half of the season to the second.

I really like this guys breakdown. Sounds like Harris just needs more coaching. I didn't realize he's only been playing football for six years. I just read elsewhere he didn't put on a football jersey until his Junior year of high school. That explains his deficiencies in technique. The effort is there, and IMHO he his physical talent you can't teach.

I'd also say the 253 lbs has as much to do with that as anything and at 6'3" he's not going to be able to put on much more weight and keep that explosive first step. He really hasn't played a lot of football, so I am sure coaching will help some, but I don't see him ever being a solid run stopping DE, pass rushing is what he does.

run stopping won't ever be a strength of Harris', but i think he can be serviceable at it down the road. that would be on par with most RDEs in a 4-man front.

That was highly enjoyable. Thanks OP..Now i'm going to watch a few more from this guy.

Agreed, he does need to get stronger, but he seems like the type of kid that has the work ethic to make that happen.

The run game will never be his strong suit, but this is a passing league and this kid can get after the QB, that first step is special.

Yeah, lol, the dude is not much of an orator, but I like his style because it reminds me of watching game tape with coaches over the years, this is exactly how the coaches go over it.
