Adam Beasley: Flores Gaining Momentum

Well, I think the idea is that the first interview -- especially for playoff coaches -- is more about gauging interest and seeing if the coach's plans align with the team's plans at a very broad level.

Richard already has a second interview lined up, and Rizzi has an interview coming up as well. I would assume that those will be much more in-depth interviews which will take several hours.

Exactly right....first one is just to find out if a second more detailed interview is necessary.

So...I’ve only heard of Richard getting a 2nd one.

Luckily we have the connections that we were able to go straight to the horse's mouth on why Kris Richard and Pete Carroll split up in Seattle. It was a HUGE sticking point for me, because what you don't know CAN hurt you.

I wanted to know why Carroll would fire a guy that had been with him the longest of any staff member, back to 2008 with USC. I also approached his time in Dallas extremely skeptically because he's officially the DB Coach there and I wanted to know why the hell isn't he a DC anywhere? If he's so good?

Turns out there were answers to these questions. Not all of them are ones I can reveal. But I mean, the same way we were able to reveal before anyone else that Kris Richard is expecting to schedule a 2nd interview with Miami, is the same way I know the answers to these questions.

And I'm fully on board now. I approached him skeptically. He might have been my least favorite candidate. I did the research. And now he's my favorite. Legit favorite.

I thought we were hiring Flores? I'm so confused

Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald seems very, very sure that Flores is the front runner, that both Chris Grier and Steve Ross want him, and to hear it from him you wonder they don't just announce tomorrow that he's the guy they're hiring.

The problem is, there ARE conflicting reports going on.

My source was, and is (reiterated) pretty adamant Flores's interview wasn't all that impressive. They said seems like a good guy, but interview didn't knock anyone's socks off. Beasley's source definitely disagrees with that.

Meanwhile Las Vegas is handicapping John Harbaugh (+250) and Kris Richard (+300) as the favorites, with Brian Flores (+1000) and Eric Bieniemy (+1000) at the very BACK of the pack.

Which, by the way, fits EXACTLY what I continue to hear from national media sources, who keep telling me that everything they hear points toward Richard, but that they also know Miami continue to pick at the Harbaugh Gordian knot (which I personally don't believe they'll ever solve, because I will continue to believe John Harbaugh is just using Steve Ross).

Dallas beat writers have been sniffing this out and they believe Kris Richard is going to Miami.

And we (3YPC) know, and are to my knowledge the only ones to reveal this, that Kris Richard himself is expecting to schedule a 2nd interview with the Dolphins, playoff schedule permitting.

I honestly don't know what to believe. Beasley's a pro. I trust him. But there's definitely conflict here.

Honestly, I wasn't happy with any of the HC candidates. Even the ones we didn't interview or any college coach. I'm extremely picky though.

If you say this Kris Richard is legit, I'm on board. You are definitely one of the smartest posters here and seem to have solid inside info.

Plus, Jerry Jones seems to truly want to keep him. He went above and beyond with his statement on the lengths he would go to keep Kris Richard. He wouldn't have gone that far if there wasn't some truth to it. That spoke volumes to me.

Bring Kris Richard on down to Miami. And NO, we aren't purposely tanking. Just ****ing WIN NOW.

I think you are dead to rights on that one.

Thanks for the info bro you're very knowledgeable and have an inside track on what's going on I feel a little bit better about it now I really want Richad here

I hope we land Richard for Minkah's sake. all this BS talk about tanking. if after all you've read and seen you think Minkah deserves to be on a 2/3 win team?

No offense, but who in the hell cares about what Minkah Fitzpatrick deserves? Have any of us deserved to be saddled with a perpetually inept team to root for for the better part of the last 20 years?

Agreed!

We’ve been mediocre for 20 damn years and it isn’t working. It’s time for annew approach.

It's also interesting that the Dolphins official twitter account tweeted about Richard yesterday. The mentions were practically begging for Ross to hire him.

He is our future team leader. we need him to be supported in every way.

I don't know you, maybe you deserve jack ****

What a lame comeback. Our future team leader? Supported? Are you serious with this? Minkah may very well be the future team leader, but what does that ultimately have to do with anything? Are you suggesting he is somehow going to come undone and be ruined if the team sucks for the next year or two? Pray tell how finishing 7-9 or 8-8 would have a vastly different impact on him going forward. No player wants to lose but ffs, he'd be just fine.

The fact that you are openly advocating for the team to win a few more meaningless games even though not doing so could theoretically enable them to be better positioned for long term sustained success simply because Minkah Fitzpatrick "doesn't deserve to be on a 2/3 win team" is downright laughable. Wtf does that even mean, anyway? Do Laremy Tunsil, Cam Wake, Matt Haack or anyone else somehow "deserve" to win 2/3 games more? Your "logic" is puzzling.
