Adam Beasley dropped some great nuggets in his article today.

The first, Philbin doesn't want Wallace and Hickey does

The word around the league is there’s a difference of opinion about Wallace within the team’s braintrust. Philbin, who famously has a no-drama philosophy when it comes to players, is believed to be in favor of letting Wallace go. Hickey, meanwhile, is apparently more sympathetic to keeping him.

The second, all personal decisions are cleared with Tannenbaum.

While Dennis Hickey remains general manager and the team insists he has final say of the 53-man roster, all major personnel decisions are at the very least cleared with Tannenbaum, sources familiar with the situation say.

Imagine that...our brain trust not all on the same page.....who would of thunk?

serious question...has beasley ever been right on anything???

ehh having to clear everything with tannebaum is like a hammer to the groin

Thisnis scary, I have said this before - I am the epitome of a homer. But sitting on our hands during FA after jettisoning a lot of our bad stopgap players is going to create more holes. We are staring firmly at 8-8 again and it sucks

Tannenbaum wasn't high on Wallace when Miami signed him as someone else stated. I would think Tannehill's opinion will be taken into consideration also. My worst fear is that all the cooks in the kitchen will but heads on the Wallace situation which will result in Ross making the decision.

Have to wonder if it's Hickey fighting for his job, and a principal fighting for principles.

Ok, now let's use some common sense here...

Who could 'POSSIBLY' have told him that?

Not Hickey, not Philbin, not ANYONE who gets paid by the Dolphins or Ross.

Could it have been Wallace's agent? :ponder:

This is just the start, this is what agents do. :d-day: :rolleyes2:

If Miami can replace Wallace with a younger version of himself who actually fights for the ball then no one here should care if Wallace is retained.

Of course we are not going to know if that happens until the end of April so until then let the speculation fly.

Too many cooks and no Chef. Need to "kick it up a notch."

It also means he doesn't immediately want to jettison him either, unlike Philbin.

I think it means exactly what it says it means. Philbin wants him gone and Hickey is more inclined than Philbin to keep him. Doesn't mean he's dead set on keeping him.

Ultimately I don't think there's any way Wallace stays. The cat is out of the bag. The question is when and how. Ultimately it appears Tannenbaum is the one who will decide both the when and the how. Philbin and Hickey can have all the opinions they want but I'm dubious that they count for all that much.

There's not too many GM's that aren't fighting for their jobs. That being said, Hickey is in no position to be fighting for principles.

You misread or I mistyped. The principal fighting for principles is Philbin.
