With ESPN taking over MNF in 2006, I thought I'd make a suggestion for the new commentating team.

What would you say to a team of Adam Sandler, Ron (JAWS) Jaworski, and Chris Berman?

I'd also like the network to consider something different. Perhaps instead of Berman, the third guy would be a "guest commentator". The "guest" would be a DIE HARD FAN of whoever the HOME team was for that particular game. This fan could be a celebrity or someone from the home team's media. Or perhaps just a regular guy who's well known amongst other "Die-Hards". Maybe somebody who created a website like this one. Maybe somebody like Sooth (but better looking and without the speach impediment....Just Kidding ).

Anyhow the "HOMER" comentator would bring something that's been missing from MNF for a long, long time. PASSION AND EMOTION!!!

An additional benefit would be the comedy of Sandler tearing the "HOMER" to pieces, except when the Jets are the Home team. Then Sandler would BE the Homer and we'd bring in somebody like Chris Rock to bust his chops.

What do you think?

Berman wont host the games...only pregame shows

It'll probobly be theisman mcgwire and the other guy

Sandler is ok, but comedians/actors don't mix with MNF. See Denny Miller.

I love comedy and I love football, but just not together.

I don't see wy they would change? I mean Al Michaels and Madden both work for ABC, which is owned by the same comapny that owns ESPN. Perhaps the language in the contract states that they can only broadcast NETWORK games, but if not, why would they not take those two ( besides the obvious jokes )?

So, I take it you don't like the Buffalo Bills then? :roflmao:

I thought I read somewhere that the ESPN Sunday night crew will now take over on Monday nights for ESPN and then NBC will get their own crew for Sunday nights.

Hopefully it will be McGuire, Theismann, and Patrick. They deserve to be on MNF what a great combo they are. I like Michaels and Madden but they can't holda candle to those three.

Sandler maybe, but I can't stand Jaws and Berman messed up so many times during the draft that he just ruined his credibility with me(not that he had much to begin with)

Id like Madden over anybody he seems to be the only guy who can put his loyalties aside and make an astute judgement

Sunday Night Football (NBC)- My guess is John Madden will definitely be there and... some NBC broadcaster... Hopefully not Marv Albert, but he's a possiblity. I really liked Al Michaels. Michaels and Madden was a great duo.
Monday Night Football (ESPN)- 3 stooges Theisman, McGwire, and Patrick.

Dennis MIller was the wrong comedy for MNF, Sandler might have better luck, having at least been a fan, and learning alot about the game...

The Longest Yard should be a great remake!
:roflmao:

I've got a NEW IDEA.

Scratch Sandler.

Give me a three man team of:
- Ron Jaworski (absolutely the best NFL guy on television, nobody breaks it down better than Jaws).
- Al Michaels (I'm not terribly fond of him but for some reason most people like him so I'll keep him for the sake of famialarity....But I want to hear more excitement out of him or he's gone).

The 3rd guy is the tough choice. I'm looking for a guy who is intelligent, witty, knowledgeable about football, somewhat entertaining, and easy to listen to. My 3rd guy is..........
- John Stewart.

So we've got Jaws, Michaels, and Stewart in the booth with Susy Kolber and Lynn Swann on the sidelines.

But there's more. This is the major "tweak" I'd add to the show. I mentioned a "guest Homer" earlier. Let's alter that idea and create two small group of HOMER fans for each team. We're looking for either celebrity types or perhaps the TV/Radio/Media personalities that cover (and root) the team.

The purpose of the "Homers" is to communicate soundbites throughout the game of what the fans are thinking, feeling, experiencing. This allows the viewers at home to get a real feel for the actual emotions of the game.

Am i the only one that finds madden annoying and irrelavant anymore. I think the guy that makes fun of him on MAD tv is the only good madden I've seen in the last few years. Him his bus and his 8 legged turkey need to retire!!!

MNF: Bills vs. ???

Berman: "nobody circles the wagons....."

JAWS : "I told you JP was the best qb in his draft class " (FYI, that was his opinion)

Sandler :" Jp is one ugly dude"
