Now that the Bengals have punched T.J. Houshmandzadeh’s ticket out of town, speculation can begin on where he will land.

It likely will be with one of six wide receiver-needy teams: the Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers, Tennessee Titans, Baltimore Ravens, Miami Dolphins or Philadelphia Eagles.

Each is looking to upgrade its receivers. Each could be active in the free-agent market. Each would appeal to Houshmandzadeh, who is not expected to return to Cincinnati.

Seattle was desperate for receivers all season. San Francisco could pair Houshmandzadeh with Isaac Bruce. Tenneessee is another receiver-deficient team. Baltimore could sign a former division rival. Miami could pair him with Ted Ginn. And Philadelphia could sign him as the reliable veteran target

Take the speculation for what it's worth, but it's worth noting that Schefter is saying this. He seems to have a pretty good feel for what teams are thinking.

I think Miami is on TJ's radar. Baltimore doesn't have the cap space with Jason Brown, Terrell Suggs, and Ray Lewis to sign. The Eagles don't seem to think Receiver is a need. The 49ers should be interested. We will see

The 49er's would be ideal for T.J. A West Coast guy, owns a home in Southern California. I'm sure going back to life on the West Coast appeals to Housh, but it will likely come down to who throws out the most cash.

It is complete speculation at this point for sure. I hope we stay away from TJ personally. The age thing bugs me. He will be 32 when the season starts.
Another thing is he seems to be a go to guy in the middle. I know he catches everything but we don't need another guy who can do this when we have Bess.

It would seem like a waste to me to go after TJ.

Philly has a lot of money to spend and they have a big arm QB, they also nearly made the SB last year, not to mention Philly is a lot closer to Cincy than Miami if he decides to keep his family in Cincy for the time being. I think it will be tough to draw him away from Philly.

I think with every free agent it will be reported that "they are on Miami's radar."
To be honest we are a team that has very few spots that could not stand to be upgraded. I'd say the only positions that would not be of interest is RB, QB, and maybe DE. Other then that it seems as though quality depth could be added everywhere. Plus we got the cap space to sign any FA we so choose.

I think he goes to Seattle and they draft BJ Raji. Therefore, Crabtree slips out of the top 5.

I agree. He is a great player but I do not think he is the kind of WR we need to add to our roster. We have Bess/Camarillo to do that kind of thing and they are both younger (although not as talented). We need a clear NO.1 go to guy that will allow Ginn to be a pure speed man on the other side. At least that is how I see it.

I'd be a lot more bullish if:
a) he was a home run hitter and,
b) he was closer to Boldin's age since he's probably looking for his last contract.

I'd rather get TJ for a decent contract than Boldin who wants a new contract and, 1st and 3rd round draft pic!!!!

I wouldn't be shocked to see him in a Dolphins uniform; however, I see the guy with the Eagles, or San Francisco. Perhaps, we might even see him in a Seahawks uniform.

Same here. I'm with you on the same page. I'm not to thrilled about going after TJ. I know he's put up high numbers a few times, but for some reason, I have always viewed him as a second tier WR. Not sure if maybe he is having that much success because of Ocho Cinco on the other side, but Ginn is no Ocho Cinco......he's more like Uno Nueve.
