So as the Fins have been in the news for a lot this off season. And who reports on all the NFL news but Adam Sheftner. This guy talks like he knows what is up and almost guarntees everything he reports but it never happens. He talks like an arrogant man who feels his word is God, he seems to try too hard to impress anyone he talks with by sitting up straight and using big words he does not know the words of. I can not stand watching this guy his voice and attitude pisses me off and I was just wondering if anyone else thought the same way and he never gets anything right!

If this thread is in the wrong Fourm I appologize. I was not sure where to put it.

Most of the "media mavens" talk like they know a lot about every team, but what they know is very limited, and probably a lot less than what knowledgeable fans know about their own team and other teams in their division or that they follow. They know the "big names" and are impressed when a team acquires one or loses one, but they don't know the lesser players a team might bring in -- or lose -- who are really critical to the team.

I actually think Schefter is one of the best - when he says something, it tends to happen. More specifically, he gets scoops that nobody else does. Case in point, Al Wilson being dangled in trade talks. Its one thing for him to talk about Trent Green to Miami... everybody knows it COULD happen! But he seems to get the stories that nobody is talking about. Thats his greatest strength.

WITH THAT SAID, I see what you are saying. He does come off somewhat over-confident.

He is one of the best and is usually right about the things he reports.

Good point.

He does come across that way.
He's usually right though. Not too long ago, he called out and said the Raiders were going to fire Art Shell and Al Davis responded not so nicely, sure enough, a week later, Mr Shell was let go.
Al Davis put Adam in his place either last year or the year before at the HoF. I can't remember exactly what Mr. Davis said, but I almost crapped my shorts.

He is just getting over confident, he is getting a lot of air time and it may be getting to his head.. NFLN continues to grow in popularity and he is the one that brings the breaking news...He is just loving the ride right now...

We all would be having fun doing what he does and may get caught in itg

Adam has been good for many years. Even before he came on the screne, he was a great reporter for the Broncos. Always did his HW before he wrote his articles.

How funny was it when the Raiders mocked him for saying that he has inside sources that Shell will be fired? Only to fire him a month later.

The lovely attitude that seeks only to bring down those who rise above.

Wasn't he the one giving us all the Porter updates? He did a very nice job of letting us know what was up with that situation.

Yes he is usually correct and he is one of the only ones that really does his homework, the guy works hard at it.

Ya, he has always come off as a very hard working and also very dedicated to his job. He is correct alot it seems, and I always look forward to what he has to say.
