Here are some notes following Thursday's practice:
- Dolphins No. 1 receiver Brandon Marshall had some interesting comments heading into this national game. Marshall, who isn't having his best season, believes he's kept his emotions under control too much and it might be affecting his play. Marshall said he plans to be so hyped for this game that he could get into a fight with Jets players and ejected in the first half.
"Obviously, Brandon was 50-percent kidding," Miami head coach Tony Sparano said, sparking laughter from the media. "I know one thing about that guy: He's not going to do anything to hurt this football team. I know the people in that locker room are important to him, and this guy has worked really hard."
- Miami rookie running back Daniel Thomas said his hamstring injury feels better following the bye week. Thomas has been one of the biggest bright spots for the Dolphins. He’s rushed for 202 yards in two games. Thomas is optimistic he will play but won’t know for sure until later in the week. Thomas had limited participation in practice on Thursday.
- Dolphins quarterback Matt Moore said it "feels good" to be the starter. He’s played in all four seasons, either as an injury replacement or to fill in for poor performers. This week Moore is replacing Chad Henne, who separated his shoulder against the San Diego Chargers.
"It's unfortunate that Chad had to go down, but that's why they got guys that need to step up and fill the role," Moore said. "It's not the first time I've done it. So it's some familiarity."
