AFC East May Send Its Worst Contender To The Playoffs

Yes, the Patriots with their geriatric defense really stand a chance in the playoffs.

Let’s hope this team, which is looking more similar to the Rams-beating 2001 team by the day, makes its way into the playoffs.
Damn, this complete article is one disgusting work of journalism. Minus the recorded video tapes they had on teams back in 2001, yeah I can see the resemblance of this ultra dirty cheating team!!!

If we win out, we beat the Jets....so that ruins that part of the argument.

Injuries ??? Where was this writer last season when the Fins had injury issues ?

Do I think this Dolphins team will do much in the playoffs ? Not at all. But it's not for a Pats fan to go whining about. I will say that the NFL playoff system is not perfect.

STFU!- the pats have the 4th weakest schedule in the league, what do you think indy doesnt deserve it ether because there schedule is virtually just as easy as our, if not easier.

wow... just wow...

There are so many flaws with his argument it is sick. What a little biyatch!

1) If we beat the floundering Jets in December at home, we definitely deserve to go more then they do, so the AFC will not be "sending its worst"
2) NE's schedule is only slightly harder than ours (Indi and Pitt v. Balt and Houston), and the Jets is easier then ours (Tenn. and Cinci v. balt. houston). All the other 14 games were against the exact same opponents.
3) We win based on common games, meaning we were more competitive against the same teams. A good argument that we deserve to be there more. I will allow that there are arguments the other way, but this a$$ is making it out to be like there has been some travesty of justice.
4) I agree that if the pats go 11-5 and don't make the playoffs, there is something wrong with the system, but fans need to look to the AFC West for their explanation of the problem and not the AFC East.
5) Forgot to add - the whole cassel/wildcat excuse is ridiculous. They got massively out-coached in week 3 because our Offensive coordinators were being creative. That makes the phins competitive. Even if you think the WC is a trick play, if a team can come up with good trick plays that the other team can't combat, that is a strength. As to cassel, injuries happen and the phins took adavantage of it. get over it.

If the AFC East is so bad why will 3 teams likely be winning double digit games? People can use the sched excuse but if we weren't good we still wouldn't be winning games. We don't have a juggernaut in the division but we have 3 solid football teams.

Did anyone catch pti last night, they were talking about how a division winner with an 8-8 record making the playoffs over an 11-5 team that didnt win there division is not fair. I wonder who thought that article up, hmm maybe another patriots fan, i'm really starting to hate new england as a whole, i live up here and anytime there is a patriots fan around all they do is ***** about how there the best how cassels is the best, well if he is the best why are there playoff hopes based on other teams losing. I wish it was 1990 again where the only time you saw patriots gear was when you were throwing crap away at the dump.

All the Patriots have to do is hope Dallas beats Baltimore and that they win their last 2.

Hell it would be my pleasure to beat the Jets in New York and come down to Miami the next week and get revenge on the Panzies . . . would be the best Xmas and New Years presents EVER.

It's not that the AFC East is so bad.....it's that the AFC West and NFC West are so bad. The AFC East is average. But if you just looked quickly and saw 3 10+ win teams, you would think it was a great division. I have to agree that all the records are a bit inflated because of the schedules.

I think one of the divisional game will have 2 AFC east games if baltimore falters.

NE defence is starting 4 22 yr old rookies , 3 guys who are playing in their 2nd or 3rd year in the league. the back 8 is very young and last few weeks are a reason for all the big plays as they are having issues playing zone coverage which most rookies do not play in college and losing harrison made sure they have this kids running around with no clue as to their zone responsibilty.NE field a very young team is killing them their avg age of starters is 25 yr old now the oldest are seymour at 28 and vrabel at 31.

What a bunch of BS. It's written by this dingleberry: Mitchell Golden, a college freshman who's bio says this: Although I live in LA, my heart lies in BAHston, specifically with the New England Patriots.

He's a biased & jealous patsies fan. I wouldn't have expected anything else.

Next.

wow this person is clueless...... clearly he's upset that the pats are a longshot for the playoffs... but saying that if there was a ranking system the phins would be ranked far lower than the pats or jets ? and that we've only won by tricking teams with the wildcat ? What garbage.... a 5th grader could write a more worthy article.

Any pats fan who says they would rather see the jets win the division is seriously ill.
