AFC Focus: Ranking the tight ends

Pretty accurate although Tennessee and the Jets should be closer to the bottom and Cinci ahead of Oakland

I disagree, Tennessee has a pretty solid TE corps. Troupe is very underrated.

How do you feel he is underrated? He has never played an entire season. Last year he only started 9 games and played in only 10 catching only 13 balls for 150 yards and 2 TD's...In 2005, he played in 15 games starting just 11, although he did have his best season with 530 yards nut only averaging 9 ypc with 4 TD's...I know he may have been buried behind Erron Kinney but avg 9 ypc is not great by any means. The question Tennessee should be asking is is he really the answer for them at TE? Im not too sure he is. His stats are decent, but he cant play an entire season.

I guess im not too impressed with the middle of the pack tight ends in the AFC..After the top 5 (in no particular order) I think the talent level drops off drastically

Martin has injuries and has always been a 2nd stringer in the nfl. Kind of makes me a little nervous to count on him to be starter in the nfl. Hopfefully cam knows something we don't.

Well if you are unsure about Troupe you should be in a major panic over David martin. if half as many seasons he has more catches, more starts and almost as many catches. His ypc is is only 10 but much better than Martin's 8.8. I do agree that there is quite a middle pack of Te's.I would trade Martin in a second for Troupe or Kinney.

Yeah, they wont be thinking so when he is dropping crucial balls and tipping them off his fingertips causing them to be intercepted...They should be around the 8-10 area

mcmichael did go through some strethces but he was also very good at times.

Linehan wasted no time signing McMichael to decent money even though he drafted two Te's last year. Mcmichale is flawed( I always wanted a better blocker although Linhan says he is an underrated blocker) but is is a top 10 tight end and we definately downgraded our TE position no matter what some may want to spin.

Im not in a major panic, but I think Troupe may be better than Martin. If you saw in my previous post I mentioned Tennessee should be lower on the list, but I do not think they should be behind us...Im just optimistic about players on THIS team moreso than on others. Wishful thinking that our playcalling and schemes are better than anothers

I think he knows a LOT we don't.

Maybe, but year after year McMichaels game deteriorated. I dont know if you noticed, but this year he looked much slower and more out of shape than prior years. Last year he just left way too many plays on the field to warrant his salary...
