...sack or a penalty and many had both. Hard for an offense to survive with that much futility. Basically not only could the o-line not block they had numerous mental errors as well that killed drives. And yet people on this forum still want to place the majority of the blame on Tannehill.

Andrew Abramson@AbramsonPBP 5m5 minutes ago Lazor: After our first two drives every drive had a sack or penalty. We got ourselves in situations where we couldn't always run the ball.

More people are blaming this loss squarely on Phailbin moreso than Tannehill, and rightfully so... Most of the seasons blame should go directly to Phailbin

Dallas thomas should not be out there, hes terrible. He lets his guy in so fast its embarrassing. He gets mauled, gets beat off the ball, hes just not good at all.

more importantly, with this offense that has zero threat of big plays this hurts more.
This offense cannot overcome a penalty or a sack bc there are no big gains. So it can be efficient, but has to be almost perfect to execute a long drive with many 3rd down conversions.

I agree slightly but most of the time when Tannehill needs/attempts to make a longer throw the offensive line doesn't do their job. A QB who can't complete a 5-7 step drop isn't going to be even afforded the opportunity when his o-line is so bad.

Case in point, how many time do we see players like Manning, Brady, Rodgers, Rivers and Brees stand back their with all day to survey the defense and make a timely throw. Tannehill just isn't given the opportunity to do that right now. Defenses right now are easily generating quick pressure on Tannehill while only sending four down linemen and maybe one blitzer in long down and distance circumstances. This allows them the drop 6-7 DB's into coverage. A QB just isn't going to be able to let a play develop let along find receivers deep when circumstances like these present themselves.

exactly. which is why i dont understand the tannehill criticism. hes never had a good oline protecting him, and the last month has been the worst its been. and hes still putting up quality performances. you need time in the pocket for receivers to get open. you need time in the pocket to throw deep. he simply doesnt get that time.

even on the wallace overthrow in the end zone yesterday, he gets hit right after the throw. its hard to make perfectly accurate throws when you know youre gonna have guys in your face immediately. oline is by far the biggest problem with this team.
