The NFL is a business, first and foremost. These things happen.

“You spend you’re whole career to that point in one place and to be told one thing and then lied to basically, you’re going to have those initial reactions of hate, [ticked] off, mad and just want to hurt everybody in the organization,” said Kilgore, a native of Kingsport, Tennessee and former standout at Appalachian State University. “But at the same time, within two or three days of not knowing where I was going, I heard I was going to [Miami] and I knew some of the coaches on the staff and being closer to home on the east coast made everything better.”

The shocking part for Kilgore is that it came shortly after the 49ers signed him to a three-year contract extension.

It's not like he took shots at anyone individually, more like a timeline of his experience and his feelings about it... but definitely not something that's going to help him out in any way. Better left unsaid.

I'm glad he's our center now. Imo this is an upgrade from Pouncey
I, and I can't believe I am saying this being a UF fan, agree. Mike's performance had waned a little because of the injuries and his attitude after being traded, really rubbed me the wrong way. Be a professional and suck it up. This a business and decisions are made, hopefully, in the best interest of the team. If you are really hurt by what transpired , get back at the team by having an outstanding season and have them regret ever letting you go. But we know this is not going to happen.

On a side note, he and his brother came out publicly and supported Aaron Hernandez. I can understand he is your friend and you believe in his innocence, but this was after the facts of the trial came out. Just support him privately and don't comment in public. Some of the things that happened at Florida when Meyer was HC were pretty unbelievable. Meyer did not care about a recruits character as long as they could perform. But that is true with a lot of college coaches.

I don't think there's a need for him to take shots at the 49ers. I hate this kind of stuff.
Agreed, I just posted about the Pouncy situation and now our center mouth is running. These overpaid babies need to just be glad someone is willing to pay them to play a children’s game professionally. Seriously, they probably signed him to make his trade value better and take the possibility of negotiating out of his hands to make a trade easier.

Now I’ve heard this before so maybe it’s just an old story being rehashed which I wouldn’t understand since there is so much out there for the media to write up right now.

The niners got a guy they considered an upgrade and they traded him. That is what all teams should do if they can get players that fit their team better

I agree the pot shots (like Landry) make you look cheap, small, bitter, etc. However, I did not interpret what he said as a cheap shot. He was really just describing his emotions during a trade.

"Just want to hurt everybody in the organization" Sounds dark.

I agree the words on paper look bad, but I do not think he meant it literally. I think he was just explaining his emotions.
I do not think this happened to Kilgore but imagine being signed to an extension, told you are our center, then you buy a house and put your kids in school, then you are traded. Easy to understand being unhappy and frustrated with the front office.

I think there's a psychology to it. He plays cool on the experience until some reporter asks, maybe pushes for a reaction, and then the guy's true feelings about it take over. Hopefully he uses it in some way.

Reminds me of the DeRozan situation in the NBA. It is a business and words don't mean jack! I am glad we got him and Pouncey is gone!

I felt his comments weren't so much a shot at San Fran as they were an honest review of how he felt when he got traded without a lot of self aggrandizing or trying to place blame. I actually thought it was kind of refreshing in its openness and recognition that his feelings had been hurt.
