After watching the ProFootball HOF selections and seeing former Viking John Randle get selected along with former Saints LB Rickey Jackson, it made me think this improves the chances of Zach Thomas and Jason Taylor being selected at some point. When you compare the careers of those players to Randle to Taylor (albeit DT vs DE/LB) and Jackson to Z.Thomas... I really feel good about #54 & #99 chance to become a HOFer. Any thoughts?

jason and zach making the HOF will have nothing to do with the guys you mention....but you will get 5 pages nyjunks reasons why there not.....3...2....1

The NFL hall of fame has become a joke. Rickey freakin Jackson. He was agruably the 3rd best LB on that Saints team behind Swilling and Mills. John Randle was a really good player but an all decade, best of the best HOF? eh. Taylor was better than both and alot better than Jackson(not taking away from him, he was a good player) and i think Zach was a better player than jackson but not Randle

Well, Zach Thomas was a MLB/ILB whereas Jackson was a pass-rushing OLB, so that's not a good comparison, although I think JT and Thomas will get in. As for Jackson and Randle, check the stats they definitely deserved it. Jackson's numbers are on par with LT and Randle was in fact selected as an all-decade player.

John Randle i will buy but I think Chris Doleman was just as dominant of a player. Not buying Jackson. Yes he was very good but Pat Swilling was better and is not in.

I think they will get in first Ballot probably not but they will be there one day

Good, I'm not the only one who feels that way. Rickey Jackson was very good...but not great. I've been much more impressed with Jason Taylor's career overall when compared to John Randall...so I think his chance's of being a HOFer are better overall.
Also considering the sports writer's involved in the voting process...both Z.Thomas and JT seemed to be praised and beloved by the media, at least what I've read in florida newspapers.

you gotta look at how they played compared to other players during that time. If you look at Paul Warfields numbers it would look paltry compared to todays players but back than he was dominant when he was on the field.

Rickey Jackson was never a first team all pro. His best finish was ninth in the league in sacks(freakin NINTH). He only finished in the top ten in sacks one other year. He was a very good player and a multiple time pro bowler but hardly an HOF. Look up Kevin Greenes stats compared to him and its a joke.

Jason Taylor finished first time all pro three times. He finished top five in sacks five times including leading it one year. He is second all time in fumble return yards. Hes won DPOY. He is number one all time in fumble returns for a TD and number 20 all time in non offensive TDs.

Rickey Jackson played until he was almost 40. Guess we should put another player in the HOF then too since he was top 8 all time in passing yards, attempts, completions and TDs. His name was Vinny Testaverde

they need to put anybody in, who has been waiting, the rice, and smith, are good choices cannot wait for smith's speech, does anybody have a list of players that are waiting on the list that should go in

This is a fact. Look at the numbers for Floyd Little, the Denver RB that was elected this year. He averaged 702 rushing yards and almost 5 rushing TDs per year over his 9 year career. A career that included 1 season over 1000 rushing yards (1133 - Ricky got 1121 this season without much acclaim). But when Floyd retired in 1975 he was 6th on the all-time rushing yards list.
With that being said, I truely believe both JT and Zack will one day be elected to the HOF; neither one will likely be 1st ballot however.
