After seeing the Chiefs, any way the Pats don't cover a 17 pt spread week 1?

I don't know if any of you are into sports betting, but after seeing us wipe the field with the Chiefs, I don't see how they aren't going to get killed week 1 at New England.

I'm thinking about making a sizeable bet for the Pats to cover a 17 point spread vs. the JV Chiefs. I really think it is a matchup of the best team in the NFL versus the worst team in the NFL. I don't see how the Chiefs either move the ball or stop the Pats from moving the ball. Factor in that NE is pissed about losing the Superbowl and they have something to prove...

My only concern is Tom Brady playing. If I knew he was playing I would have made the bet by the time our game ended with KC on Saturday.

Thoughts?

Pats looked Terrible against the Eagles this past weekend.

And, their OL picked up right where it left off in the superbowl. It got smoked against the Eagles.
 
The chiefs dont have a strong pass rush. Hali is about it i think the pats will win but 17 is iffy.

Yea the pats looked terrible but they didnt have Tom Brady, just like the colts have looked terrible all preseason without Payton. As long as Tom plays, which he will, the pats cover the spread Unfortunately!!
 
I think there isn't a chance in heck the Patriots win by less than 17. The Chiefs truly looked bad.
 
Much better plays than NE vs KC. Too many question marks with that game. Brady's lack of practice would make me think they plan to run the ball and milk the clock. 17 is a lot to cover with a fast clock. Herm Edwards will be all over KC for the next 2 weeks since they looked so bad. KC may be an angry team. NE may take them lightly. NE may also win by 40.

I don't think it will be a blowout, but I dunno... the patriot's are now the 04 05 colts... all offense no d ;p
 
I predict the Pats will not make the playoffs this year - especially with Brady nursing an injury.

I would never bet on the opening day of the season - too many unknowns.
 
The Pats always look like spit in the preseason, obviously without Brady they look even worse.

I wouldn't be surprised at all to see this happen more often this season. The NFL is a copycat league - you better believe teams have been studying that film (superbowl). That said, like others have pointed out - the Chiefs don't exactly have a great d-line.

All the DC's have had plenty of time to change their signals up AND they have the defensive helmet speaker now. If there was any significant benifit gained from the whole spygate thing, it will most likely not exist this season. I know they were uncovered week 1 last season. Maybe there will be no impact, but I hope there is :-).

I would stay far away from this game. Even if Brady does play the injury could effect him - or he could be completely healthy. Belli won't tell us n e thing.
 
not for nothing, but the Ratriots havr looked horrible in every game they played in during the preseason... I dont care of its preseaon or not, but they just look like they do not have that intanglible fire they had last season. They'll beat the cheifs, but they definately will not be as dominating as they were last year. 1/2 of the reason is because they wont be able to cheat and 1/2 the reason is cause they now posses the curse after last seasons failure
 
no u are currently a fan of the worst nfl team the chiefs are probably 3rd worst..

LAST year he was a fan of the worst team in the NFL... CURRENTLY he's a fan of a team that's got the same record as every other team in the NFL. :up:

i thought he was beig sarcastic.. i think its pretty self explanatory that the worst team in the NFL is a toss up between the raiders and the cheifs.
