It strengthens Cam and Randy's claim that he's the most accurate passer in the draft...Almost all his passes were caught in stride by the receivers, no slow down whatsoever...I believe...

[FONT=&quot]Check out these links of Beck and BYU games. These aren't Beck highlight reels, so you might get bored.
We got a sweet deal with Beck.
This first one is of BYU's final MWC game against rival Utah. Notice the final drive. Beck's a winner.

This game is against TCU earlier in the season. He played on two sprained ankles. That's where some of his critics have gotten the ammunition for saying he has limited mobility. Notice how he looks off defenders.

Here's John ripping apart the then #4 defense in the country: Wyoming. BYU wins 55-7. Ouch.

Ah, and finally the Vegas Bowl. BYU 38 to Oregon 8.

Not sure if this has been posted but in these highlights I am not overly impressed sadly.

I only see a couple of good in stride throws...the others are lucky they didnt get batted down by the CBs since they were underthrown somewhat and the receivers had to adjust to the ball and stop to get it (which they do) but after it bounces around a bit.

So...this might not be a good reel...it shows off some good catches though...

I Agree

To begin: I'm an old time reader and fan of Finheaven for quite sometime but never posted--so why now--it must be late or something.

Anyway, I watched highlight films of Beck, Quinn, Kolb and Stanton and I made the same observation as NYPhinzFan. His receivers were always in stride and the ball was on the money with each throw. The zip is very impressive as well.

But with Quinn all the throws are high or the receiver is adjusting/slowing down. He's very fortunate to have had Samarja for some of those. I guess that's why the interceptions were so low. Kolb is even worse--almost every throw and catch the receiver is diving for the ball. Stanton looks better or equal to Quinn, but I think the coaches were more impressed with Beck's intelligence, maturity and natural abilities with envisioning the "window" (see the article below). Stanton's outside throws also scare me and remind of a few Jay's we've had around here. Most of those in the films should have been a pick 6.

I was definitely a Quinn hopeful and upset after that pick, but now after seeing what I believe the coaches have seen and reading this article http://deseretnews.com/dn/view/0,1249,650197129,00.html , I am becoming a believer.

Check it out and start to support our future (he may be older, but that means he will be ready for next year--especially with old man winters from KC at the helm):fogey:.

A few quotes:

"Earlier this week, perhaps the most relaxed in his BYU football career, Beck knelt down at the 47-yard line of the indoor practice facility, and with a flick of his wrist, threw the football through the uprights and into the wall. Standing up, he can throw a football consistently more than 75 yards....

"Beck started throwing spirals when he was only 2.Every spring, BYU's baseball coaches beg him to try out for the team. They covet his 92 mph fastball. He's jammed the fingers of dozens of BYU receivers with his velocity and has worked to slow down his hips and even drag his trail leg to take heat off his passes....

"Mendenhall told reporters of an imaginary target window around a receiver and said that Beck appears to have control over his passes at the right time and at the right place and speed.
"I think John feels he can throw the ball into anything right now," Mendenhall said. "That's a great thing for your quarterback to feel and I don't intend to get into his way."

The more I see of this guy, the more I like him. You can clearly see why the coaches felt this guy had as much, if not more, potential than Quinn at a fraction of the price.

How 'bout that release? We haven't seen anything like it since Marino retired.

beck is another drew brees in the making and we know how he turned out awesome pick for the dolphins and in my opinion will be much better than quinn will ever be

I read this morning that this guy is more pro ready than Quinn ..

In other words, this Beck character has the ability to start sooner for Miami than Quinn would.. Maybe even alot sooner.

That would be a interesting article considering rumors out there saying Brady Quinn was the "Most NFL Ready Qb in the draft".

I really hope Beck pans out.

Watching those highlights the thing that jumps off the screen at me is his quick release. I'm liking him more by the minute.

Watching his highlight reels, I was thinking exactly the same thing, unbelievable release. We can only hope he turns out to be something like Marino......

GO PHINS~!
