They have to be the worst in the league(D-backs) cant cover, cant catch, cant even tackle, I mean what do we have to be to get in int when its thrown right to you Allen droped another key int in the endzone that a ply later they scored on damnit Bill offseason comes cut every D-back we have including Bell.

thoughts???

It's the secondary more than anything. We do not have the worst Defense in the NFL.
 
The secondary is garbage we all know that, easily the worst in the league. Will Allen is a number two, and everybody else shouldn't be on an NFL roster.

But another huge problem today was the inability of the front 7 to get pressure on Flacco. We saw him with all day to throw may times today. The blitzes weren't getting through, and they basically let a rookie pick them apart.

Another very poor defensive effort.
 
My thoughts are another awesome thread. Its funny, prior to the year, the majority told me Will Allen was a #1. Where are all those guys now?

Yeah I know. Allen is mediocre at best. Our cornerbacks are horrible.
 
yea ive been sayin this for the last few seasons. We havent had good corners since they got rid of Madison and Surtain. Sammy Knight was good too. We got rid of them and have never found the right guys to fill their shoes. Will Allens just ok. He's no elite CB. He is definately a #2 at best. He's probably one of the better ones at coverage but he cant catch and hes not real physical. We acquired all of these guys in 2006...Daniels, Lehan, Renaldo Hill, Goodman & Jason Allen and they suck. They cant cover, catch or tackle but we continue to stick with them. None of them show any signs of developing into a superstar type of CB and they need to get just part ways with these guys. Guys were gettin wide open. You'd think if they can't cover they would at least be physical and lay a big hit on someone but nah, they do those arm tackles and look like idiots.

Yeremiah Bell is the only one in the Secondary who should still be there. Will Allen should be a #2 Cb at best and Crocker isnt anything worth keeping.
 
We've known we lacked playmakers in the secondary for a while now so it shouldn't be a surprise. Allen is a good cover corner but he's poor at playing the ball and has hands of stone. Goodman & Lehan are nickel/dime CB's at best.

Bell is good but he has a history of injuries and turned 30 this year. Is he someone that we want to invest a long term contract in? Neither Crocker or Hill should be starting.

I was dispointed when Sparano chose Hill over Allen. Allen at least showed signs of being a playmaker, which is more than I can say for Hill.
 
i agree...Renaldo Hill is terrible. He looks like he doesnt know where he supposed to be or what he should be doing. He always looks lost.
 
I think you guys have a one-track mind. Did the DB's play well today? No, but was it worse than any previous game?

The DBs weren't responsible for the 15 yard runs up the middle...they aren't responsible for 40 yard screen plays...they aren't responsible for personal fouls at the 15 yard line...they aren't responsible for long runs after the linebackers blew coverage on dump-off passes...they weren't responsible for the multiple offsides penalties!!!

This may have been one of their best efforts. The problems today had more to do with a swiss cheese defensive line and poor linebacker play.

I count 19 plays which were the responsibility of the linebackers and line which were poorly played and either gave up big plays on short yardage or went for big plays. For the DBs...only 7.

Yeah, we know the DBs are bad...but Bell played a pretty damn good game and did cause a fumble after another long screen play the backer blew...

We need to replace most of the DBs...but our linebackers (Crowder and Ayodele) weren't very good today...in fact they were bad. Roth also contribute with loss of contain on a number of plays....
 
They still need everything on defense. Along with the db's, they need a few new linebackers and defensive linemen.
 
team game guys. no pressure on a rookie qb exposes our secondary. they feed off each other. we need to have pressure so the qb is uncomfortable and rushed. today both our lines were beaten badly again. i'm most disapointed with the defensive front cause they got run on and had little qb pressure, not good. the ol had some decent pass protection but we had no running game and that won't do it for us. overall not a great showing, so we lost.
