Ahmed Brooks!!!!!!!!!

No IMO, he'll cost too much and Saban won't give up the farm for him. I wish we would get him, but don't think it will happen.

I'd love to have him, but I think the 49ers will burn a 2nd round pick on him. If Brooks can stay clean, he and Manny Lawson would make a hell of a young pass rushing LB duo.

On the other hand, Ahmad Brooks, Channing Crowder, Zach Thomas and Jason Taylor is an even more impressive linebacking corps.

Ahh, unfortunately you are right my friend. The '9ers will spend a high pick to get Brooks. I would be real shocked if he sticks around long enough for the Fins to feel the pick as an equal value.

I still believe they will grab one of those other LB's with a fifth or sixth.

I saw your avatar and had to dig out my Piece of Mind CASSETTE.
And it played like a dream. Timeless stuff eh.

givin up a 3rd or a 4th rd pick is NOT giving up the farm.

your right it's not too steep but i have a feeling he's going to the 9ers hope i'm wrong.

They arent giving up a 2nd.... essentially its a late first round pick b/c they aren't going to win a game this year. Maybe a 3rd but that's a stretch... i think we get him with our 3rd

Aw man, I just changed my avatar too! LOL!

Great album! I can just hear "Where Eagles Dare" and "The Flight of Icarus".

I got an AWESOME set on E-Bay. It was from a seller in Russia. They were official Iron Maiden CDs (everything from "Iron Maiden" to "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son") with unreleased live tracks, unreleased studio tracks and rare b-sides. These were only released in Russia and all the writing is in Russian. I was a little nervous because I'd never bought anything overseas on eBay, but the guy came through and they were awesome. I paid about $75 American for them, but they are SO worth it!!!

Enjoy that tape man!

What round do we draft in!? what pick do we get!

Looks like Ahmad will go join MAnny LAwson in SF
don't know but that's what i've been saying all along.

I think Saban will offer a fourth. I'd be surprised to see anyone offer more than a third for a troubled and slightly out-of-shape linebacker, despite the upside. That said, half the league has a higher draft pick than us in the supplemental, including several interested teams.
I think two or three teams offer fourth rounders and Brooks goes somewhere else. Green Bay is sort of a darkhorse, I like him to go there.

Here is a good breakdown of how the supplemental draft works:

http://football.about.com/od/miscinformation/a/supplementdraft.htm

Here is an exerpt:

The league uses a weighted three-step, semi-lottery system to determine the order of the supplemental draft as follows:
  • Teams with six wins or less participate in the first lottery for the top picks. The team that posted the worst record among that group is given a weighted advantage over the following team, with each team's "weight" being decreased on down the line until reaching the team with the best record in the group.
  • The second group consists of non-playoff teams and follows the same weighted system.
  • The third group consists of last season's 12 playoff teams and, again, follows the same lottery system.
After the order is determined, each team submits to the league the name of the player(s) they are interested in, as well as the round they would like to choose them in. The team that submits the highest bid is awarded rights to the player.
Hope that helps.
